This has nothing do do with aim assist.
But there is something off about aiming in this game, I’ve reduced all of my dead-zones to 0 and I still don’t have enough of a degree of control. Launch H2A or halo 5, drop your dead-zone to 0% and see what I’m talking about, you can just about make perfect circles with your reticule. But in Infinite, the acceleration moves in fits and spurts and it’s extremely difficult to control when you’re trying to get that last shot or make minute adjustments when sniping. You either undershoot or overshoot, there is a lack of resolution in the middle.
Absolutely, this was confirmed on Reddit/Twitter compared to Apex legends. It feels like “0” DZ is not a true 0 unlike other games. This makes it incredibly jerky, and honestly feels like the same Aiming system in place for H5.
Let me be clear, anything resembling H5s aim mechanics will put this game in its grave early. The purists will go back to MCC and new players will be frustrated when it feels like aiming doesn’t work. The only reason I myself don’t play H5 was that it is like fighting my thumbs. Once again I’m here fighting my thumbs.
There are simply other good games out there now with working aim mechanics. Hell when Overwatch first hit consoles the aim system was horrendous and even THAT felt better than this.
Infinite can have all the bells and whistles in the world but if your gunplay doesn’t feel good, or you’re fighting your thumbs then that is NOT a recipe for a first person shooter where the point of the game is to be AIMING AND SHOOTING. If one of these is a chore there’s a problem.
But not all is lost, H2, H3, Reach, H4 they all had smooth fantastic aiming systems. The simple fix is to either:
A) Scrap this and fix the dead zone problems. (True 0)
B) Give us the same aiming system that is used in MCC which is honestly perfect. Or at the very least make it an option!
this game has potential, let’s not let it flop due to something simple to fix and which the company has gotten right before.
this is much worse than halo 5 in terms of the deadzone imho.
