This probably wasn’t the first thing on everyone’s mind, but shouldn’t we be able to lower our weapons in an online match, like in Halo 2? We were promised it in Halo 4, and that didn’t work out so well. It would definitely be great for machinima and other randomness, and there hasn’t really been a reason to not to. What do you guys think?
I really hope we can. It was a neat feature in Halo 2 and very easy to do.

There’s not much of an excuse for not having this ability. Because there aren’t any ways that it would remotely harm gameplay aside from having your weapon out of site, which isn’t even that big of a deal given that it’ll raise the moment you pull the trigger or melee or throw a grenade.

Some of the button glitches were caused in halo2 from the weapon lowering
It’d be a cool option to add. Me and my buddies could be like cops.
With which button would this work?
I like that idea and if they allow the feature in online custom game, it should do any harm.
and I have an idea how you can do it without to much work. They could implement this.
First: You need to press and hold all four buttons for four seconds to lower it.
To raise the weapon back, you just press the melee button.
Presto! you have quick and easy way to lowering your weapon.
