Personally I think it is a mistake to raise the Wasp level. It isn’t a strong vehicle. It isn’t hard to shoot down. The Wasp can now get destroyed by rail guns and spartan lasers as soon as its used. There is now point using a ONI Wasp either since you can just use a banshee.
Based on on what I have seen in the forums, it was a vocal minority that complained about the previous REQ level. What do you think?
Absolutely not, the Wasp spam was terrible before. 343 finally realized a bunch of the balance problems when they played against organized players during the Warlords weekend. I hope when they test Warlords again they see what else they need to nerf (Banshee flips, Whiplashes, etc).
Balance must be obtained by looking at what the the best players and organized players can do with a weapon. If it’s balanced around making it effective for solo players, organized players will instantly begin to exploit it using actual teamwork and coordination. The capability of a weapon to be exploited is a far bigger problem than individual players not feeling powerful with the weapon.

Banshee flips are the same as any Halo. Nobody will nerf my precious Whiplash. It is fine the way it is and I play Warzone solo all the time. Farming is rare thing but people act as though it happens every game.

The Banshee flips are not the same as any Halo, the Halo 3 flip for example had a delay before the flip actually activated. In Halo 5 the Banshee can continuously flip with practically no delay. Go look up some Halo 5 Banshee Unfrig videos on youtube to see what they can do.
I have no idea what half your post is in response to since my entire point was most solo players don’t know what exploiting overpowered REQs really looks like. Most organized players never bother using the OP REQs against solo players, there’s no need.
I never even mentioned farming, but yeah I agree it wasn’t that common after the first few months of Achilles. The issue 343 responded to was quick coring.

Of course the Wasp can get destroyed by Railguns and Spartan Lasers. That’s exactly why they’re level 4+ and not level 3.
If both teams are level 3, one side has access to Wasps and the other side destroys the spam with…?

Totally agree. The Wasp has been one of the highlights of Warzone in the past few months, and I didn’t even know it’d been raised! Haven’t played for a couple of days, so this news really sucks. It seems like game developers these days will nerf the life out of everything that’s fun. Warzone is supposed to be hectic and crazy, so this is really disappointing news.
Halo 5 already seems to be dead lately, and I doubt this will help. I’m a huge Halo fan but it has gotten stale for me lately, and I’m tired of the long list of problems that haven’t been addressed. But they seem to love to change the weapon layouts and mess around with REQ levels and all sorts of other stuff that was just fine as it is. This is probably why I now have to search on Expanded for most playlists to get a game - people are getting sick of it.
Spartan Lasers were level 5 and Railguns are level 4. That means it would take two more levels to take it down. And honestly, if you’re saying the Wasp is too weak for level 4, you clearly haven’t used it. It turns the game around at level 3.

I used it a lot. The Blood of Suban also destroys it and this comes from a guy who uses it against Wasps.
I think the problem comes from the fact that the plasma pistol and Spartan laser are now extremely low leveled. I mean, the plasma pistol should be at level 2, low leveled players need to counter vehicles. But the Spartan laser? There’s already railguns and Void’s Tear at level 3 & 4. Doesn’t help that Wheelman was moved up to level six.

This was the problem with it being at 3. One team would spam them, farm bosses and Spartan kills, which would just increase the REQ Level divide between the two teams. Putting it at 4 helps soften that a bit and slow down early game pace.

Exactly. Too many ppl would have an advantage having the Wasp to bump up their req lvl

Warzone just got one step closer to being as good as it once has been. The wasp can literally flip the momentum of a game if it’s called out as soon as you hit 3 reqs and you know how to basically fly it. Maybe if they lowered things like the regular Railgun to req 3 and/or decreased how common wasps are it could possibly work at 3. The thing is this forum post was a made a bit prematurely since the req changes haven’t even been in effect for 24 hours.
The thing is, at least in my experience, Wasps are still incredibly rare, or at least they aren’t common enough to warrant the amount of REQ level right now. Railguns (COMMON, 3), Plasma Pistols (COMMON, 3), Grenade Launchers (UNCOMMON, 3), Whiplashes (UNCOMMON, 4), Razor’s Edges (RARE, 3), Blood of Subans (RARE, 4), Arclights (RARE, 5), and Spartan Lasers (RARE, 5), are all found much more abundantly and are significantly better than Wasps. It’s not really an issue of balance, it’s about people not wanting to instantly get shot out of the sky with a rare item. To be honest, I’d rather they leave balance for Arena, and keep Warzone hectic.
Formerally, on Darkstar, as Red team, if I get a REQ level 3 wasp that early in game, I would have basically decided who will win? Keep the Blue team pinned down at their armory while my team captures the fortress with ease, and then keep the opposing team respawning as my team pushes to triplecap—game, set, match.
I don’t really think there’s a good solution to the situation. At level 3 it was extremely powerful, and nothing could really counter it. At level 4 its too easy to counter with the Railgun and Spartan Laser being available. If I had to choose one or the other I’d have to say keep it at 4, but also keep the ONI at 4 because the projectiles it fires are hard to kill with. I can also see the Hannibal staying at level 5 because by that point you have plenty of counters for it (I’m looking at you Arclight).
