LOWER Skill Please!

Is there any way to increase the odds that I’ll be matched with players that are NOT way better than I am? I’m tired of being target practice for MLGs looking to boost their K/D spread. I practice 2-3 hours/night 5 nights a week, but I still have NO chance against most of the players I’m matched with any given night. If there is no way to do this, then the really good players should consider tutoring the lesser ones to make it halfway competitive. If they aren’t willing to do that, they have no excuse for complaining about weak players. I can’t imagine how it could be fun for them - it certainly isn’t for me. By the way, I’m not a social player - I’m here to compete, win more matches and eventually get my K/D above 0.50.

i hear ya man

PRE-CSR I was rocking about a 10-15 K/D spread per game, I always play with the same group of friends and always thought that I performed above average.

POST-CSR is a different story altogether. Ever since day 1 we’ve been pitted against people that just seem to demolish us. Sure we had a few wins here and there but for the most part, the skill was grossly unbalanced.

Today I played this match: https://app.halowaypoint.com/en-us/Halo4/dj%20lu1gi/home/match-6d0965910ba25008

Depends what it is your actually practicing!

Halo Reach was my first Halo game. After 13000 games I had an overall KD 0.45 and Matchmaking KD 0.43 (mostly Invasion and some Slayer).

When I got Halo 4 by the I reached SR130, I had an overall KD 0.57 and Slayer KD 0.63. I was then given the Halo 4 Guidebook and I learned about strafing, juking and some other stuff. My overall and SLayer KDs went up about 0.25 each but was still negative. Then,I discovered this channel by Halo4Tutor.

By applying what he taught about tips & tricks into my game play over time, I have gone from an overall negative KD to positive KD 1.26 and Slayer KD to 1.80 (was high as 2.01). There are other dudes out there with good tips & tricks too but, I found this one the one I liked best. His number one mantra is “play smart”.

The best practice is learning something from a video/book/friend and then applying it in game play…over time you’ll get it right. It does take time but, the effort will pay off. You know, going into every game, I don’t look at other players CSR, Career stats or anything. I just assume we are all equal and play my style (with room to adapt and change on the Battlefield when required).

Also, what I have done over the past 10 weeks or so, is after a particular game, if someone on my team or an opposing team had a big kill score or,got a ridiculous amount of kills with a particular weapon (having viewed the carnage report),I’ll got to Temporary Film files and save that game for review and watch what he/she did and then incorporate that into my game play.

Juts keep at it…don’t give up…things will work out!

They aren’t using the only Halo system that worked, HALO 2 and they have to match you up against anyone because the populations is so low. Give up the game like the majority have…

Not trying to stat flame you bud but since you brought it up… Your average player’s k/d ranges from 0.9-1.1 its going to be very difficult to match you with players that are .75 and below because there’s almost no one at those lower levels to play against.

Additional info. You still have yet to finish the campaign. I recommend strongly you be able to complete “normal” difficulty settings before attempting further multiplayer.

I don’t know what to say really. Pre-CSR was easy for me and now with CSR it’s a cakewalk.

If they plan to keep resetting CSR then they’ve just made this game even more easy and boring.

Does any1 recall how long the seasons will be?

no idea. They said they may or may not reset them. Some playlists may never get reset while other ones get tuned and reset again. They never really explained when or why they reset. We only know they can reset whenever they please.

What playlist are you guys playing on?

I hope they are longer than Reaches Arena Seasons. I understand they want to make the rank less attractive to account buyers and sellers so people who buy their ranks buy them for nothing… But really hope seasons last at least 6 months.

Who you talking too?

0.5? dude, if you playin to compete, step that up bro! they’re not that hard to beat… at least most of 'em.

Easy to say when you know the game.

“dude, just play better” isn’t advice, what you should be saying is “dude, play like this” explaining what the OP can do to improve their performance.

As far as CSR goes, it’s simple since the season just started a lot of vets have low ranks like the noobs do, this is only temporary because they will rise up really quick and they won’t show up in you’re games anymore.

What weapon are you using mainly?
The big thing for me is using a weapon that fits the map, like not running around with a AR on big maps.
I play Big Team Slayer most and I normally do ok.

My setup is:
Dmr
Plasma pistol
Jetpack
Requisition
Ammo

Best tip I have is to not get to jumpy and run after the enemy. Wait for the enemy to come to you as much as possible.

If you are playing Team Slayer then try to stay with your team as much as you can,
it will keep you alive more than not.
