Lower Cool down of Pick ups dramatically to increase outplay potential

Lower cool down of certian pickups.

Replusor, Allow for a boost into a player/direction, into a jump… Allow us to combo it. ATM we can’t.

Grapple hook… ehh lower it slightly.

Shield, make it slightly stronger and also a hard wall, single wall and allow it to be picked up and placed 3 times.

Ah yes “outplay potential”. That’s what this game needs.
This game feels like I’ma stick in the mud. Stiff. I like your suggestions.

the problem with this idea is that it just boils everything down to equipment spam and makes fight unreadable for players. The cool thing about all the outplay/movement options in Infinite is that none of its unpredictable really, so a good player is still very much punishable and you don’t have a Halo 4/Reach situation where if a player picked up sprint or Armor Lock or whatever they were almost unkillable, you can be a pro player and still get destroyed by a good nade or solid shots.

Thisn game is just so casual atm, if you didn’t know, grenades curve and track to enemy players, so even nades are now unskilled, controller you just strafe, don’t even need to move your right stick…

as it stands the game has clearly been designed for the casual 1 hour a week player, and has lowered the skill gap tremendously to the point of me wanting to uninstall, i played 1.8k hours on mouse on MCC, on infinite everything has been fine tuned to make good players suck vs noobs.

If you say so. I don’t know how you withstood the last 15 years of Halo with Forge and custom games (that work) but Infinite is not an entirely competitive shooter either.

People were saying this in 2004 with Halo 2 (huge amounts of aim assist) and in 2007 with Halo 3 (no button combos) and especially with Reach/4. You talk about MCC like those games are so difficult, the reality is that they’re a lot like Infinite but with far slower movement (making it easy to land shots)

Now I’m not here to pretend that Infinite is the best Esports game ever made, I recognize the things you are saying, but the last few times I played MCC I just thought those games were so much more relaxing to play. You didn’t have to know crazy button combos (ala Halo 5) and your overall amount of inputs was far lower (no spamming slide/sprint constantly like Halo Infinite) so I just remember playing Halo 3 and leaning back the whole time lol.

Edit: also, your suggestion would not increase the skillgap as you suggest, it would just make battles more 1 dimensional. The solution to increasing the skillgap should be making certain weapons (BR) more difficult to use, not make everything into equipment spam.

I like the game being casual, but I still we need more per-match options. I think that can benefit both casual and competitive players. I want to see many playstyles flourish in social, but the equipment is either too weak, or too slow to cooldown. I like repulsor jumping. Its fun and messes with players. But the boost doesn’t have the range nor cooldown to be good for dodging. Drop wall is near-useless. no one pays attention to threat sensors.

Then on top of that, many weapons need a straight buff. So people are back in the old Halo rut of “X is the best thing, so I will only use that.” (IE precision starts in MCC. At least we have some options now) but that kind of playstyle works with competitive, that’s why BR starts are in Ranked. Imagine that and having all the equipment and alternate options! The pro players can shine, and the social players can experiment.

H5 is a micromanagement game.

H3 is a mind game.

Infinite ? Nade spam with tracking nades (Yes they track) Unlimited AA which makes strafing near on pointless, equipment thats not neutrel (Bubble, regen and power drain)

H3 was designed for Pure balance, Infinite is a spam fest to keep the casuals playing, but time and time again Devs forget that its not the casuals that stick around past the 6 month mark, its the dedicated player base.

For MCC and Infinite it has killed the game.

H5 was different enough to hold 100k+ population a few years into its life span, infinite is dead already.

Well I’ll just wait a couple of years for you to change your mind.

Its so common its cringe.

There’s nothing worse than hearing a stupid grenade jingling around for what feels like 10 seconds where you can’t see the stupid thing and somehow it just magically found it’s way to you when the initial sound of the bounce was so far away…like how many damn times can a grenade bounce around until it explodes man? God i hate how grenades do this in infinite.
