Low player population and challenge completion

Living not only in Australia, but Tasmania, it takes a while for me to find games. Sometimes I simply don’t. This makes playlist specific challenges a pain to complete. This is particularly frustrating when I don’t have all the time in the world to play this game, and that’s assuming I even find a game (and if I do it’s usually 180+ ping). This has made progressing towards weeklies a nightmare, and I’m not looking forward to how it’s going to impact the battlepass progression for the next season. And the idea of requiring challenge swaps, an item I have to pay for, to progress towards free rewards is ridiculous.

Depends what you are looking for.

Event games are pretty good. 25ms. Late afternoon to after midnight.

Some playlists don’t really have numbers until 8pm or so.

I find ranked works best about 9pm.

Sometimes cancelling the search and then starting again seems to work. Probably just coincidence - but I usually cancel and start again if I’ve gotten out to 3 mins waiting.

And I find the ping a bit misleading. Had plenty of games that felt crisp despite 150-200ms. And on the same token, 100ms and it can be awful.

Hopefully we get a bit of a population bump with S2.

PS. Tassie!

That’s some useful info, cheers. Reveals another problem though aha. A game that has been out for like 6 months requires us to play at certain times to find games. God that is depressing

It’s frustrating for sure.

I think the S1 content was solid - just not spread over 6 months.

S2 looks very good. But again I worry that it won’t stretch to 6 months.

There is a lot of pressure on the Forge beta in the back half.

PS. How does a Tasmanian end up with a gamertag referencing a moose?

Forge will 100% be keeping the game alive by the later half of the season, no doubt

A bunch of us decided to become a the “Moose Clan” so we all changed our names to have moose at the end. How we chose moose I have no idea, one of us just said it at random I think aha. It’s pretty cringe ey

I agree. I have no swaps and my challenges wont progress so i cant get the black visor unless i pay :frowning:

It’s unfortunate. Even some of the challenges on their own are a pain to pursue. Grenade sticks for example. With the still present de-sync issues as well as lag it is so common for my nades to just phase through players.

I tried to get my mates to do something similar with smurf. I was Rabid Smurf. But nobody else wanted to.

And probably a good thing seeing how Smurf is it’s own gaming term now.

Just play Fiesta. Grab a sticky. And wait for someone to come at you with the sword. You’ll die of course… but they literally run straight at you.

I agree some are still pretty bad, i have “kill enemy spartans trying to return their flag 3 times” and “kill enemy spartans attacking a friendly zone 10 times” and no swaps. I’m dang bummed because i want the black visor

Yea those types are real rough. You’re held hostage not only by the behaviour of other players, but also the RNG of getting a CTF match. That’s unfortunate mate

Watch the Intro for Monty Python and the Holy Grail, has a lot of moose in it.

Wow, that’s really unfortunate. Best of luck getting that done. Makes me really thankful for the less awful challenges that I got this week.

Yeah man i have to hope my team drops the flag, and i have to hope an enemy goes to return it whom i can kill, i have to hope for ctf. Ive been searching since 4am last night… not a single ctf

Here’s to hoping season 2 will improve the challenges. May you never have to experience that again
