Let me start by saying that I don’t think Shatter is a bad map and frankly I think it is pretty cool but that is my opinion and you have full right to disagree so don’t go grabbing your torches and pitchforks.
Anyway now to the true purpose of the thread. I was looking at the new maps with my brothers offline when we were playing FFA slayer on Shatter. As we played we experienced moments of really low framerate when nothing was really going on, we were all simply walking around the map. Is this a common thing or is it an oddity on my console?
The same thing happens for me. I play split screen all the time with my brother, so I dread this map.
It has something to do with the dynamic scenery on the side where the sun is starting to shine through. Apparently, two screens on that map are too much for the Xbox’s video card to handle-- the framerate will be completely fine as soon as one of us looks down at the ground or away from that side of the map.
This can be fixed by using what was implemented in Halo Reach: lowering the graphics on the map while using split screen. In Halo 4, however, it stays the same, so we’re bound to have a framerate problem.
well good to know that I am not the only one. Thanks for the responses and not flaming me. Its a good map, just hard to do split screen on, shame there is that problem for offline play.
Seems the older consoles have more issues with framerate dropping then the newer ones. It will happen on any console with split screen I believe. It drops for me all the time on Shatter and Wreckage. I’m using an elite console.

I have a Slim 250GB and experiance framerate lag on Shatter and Complex
