Loving the game, but the friendly AI is atrocious

It really is terrible. Probably the worst campaign AI in recent memory. I’m hesitant to even replay the campaign because I don’t want to deal with its incompetence. Reviving is hit or miss, they block your path, pathing is terrible, they are almost worthless unless you give them a target, you can’t give orders to specific characters, and the list just goes on and on. I remember hearing how both friendly and enemy AI were given overhauls, but I don’t see it. Your team stays on your hip even when they don’t need to, making returning around in tight spaces a pain and they seem incapable of killing an enemy unless you tag them. Anyone else frustrated?

Like any new feature, there is bound to be problems. Your team will stick with you unless you order them away, actually makes sense. No real soldier (or spartan in this case) is assumed to go alone. A team is called a TEAM for a reason. As for reviving, I don’t feel bad if they don’t revive me because it was never in any other Halo games and if I get downed, that’s my bad, not theirs. On a side note, my team usually kicks the crap out of things when I’m not hitting it.

The Friendly ai is as decent as halo 3s miners, elites, etc they can kick -Yoink-

The Friendly AI in my last game gave me an HJ behind a palm tree so I am cool with them.

The AI really feels Beta or even Alpha to me. It seems to me like it got no attention. There seems to be a design conflict between wanting to include squad members, but not wanting to make the game too easy because you always have help. However, it turns out that they made the squad members almost worthless instead of designing the missions in a way that allows the squad members to act competently.
