Lemme just say I’m mostly positive about Halo 5 online.
But I have to say that some weapons, in my opinion, are in desperate need of nerfing. Most of the time I can let it go, but I believe these things need to be discussed.
1. Needler.
I know it was useless in earlier halos, but I think making it completely OP was a mistake. Some people say it’s easily avoidable, I say that’s only if you see it coming. If you don’t, then you’re dead. Simple.
My suggestion -
When a certain amount of needles are shot into an opponent, it eventually causes an explosion that kills an enemy. What if that explosion just took down the opponents shield, and you still had to pop the persons head with one shot?
That would mean that the needler would still be a force to be reckoned with, and still maybe be a bit OP, but it wont be shooting out pink mists of death! LOL!
2. Frag grenades.
I have nothing against the amount of grenades in the game, but I believe the amount of splash damage is OP. I know you can use thruster packs to dodge them at times, but there are too many with just wizzing around the map on close quarters maps, and the whole scene becomes a nuke testing ground.
Suggestion -
Keep the amount of grenades you spawn with the same, but reduce splash damage by 20-25%.
3. SMG
The idea should be that the AR is a little bit more accurate at longer ranges, but the SMG should be more devastating at short range.
This doesn’t seem the case. I’m getting kills at too longer ranges, and the accuracy seems a bit too good.
It shouldn’t just be a superior weapon in everyway to the AR.
Suggestion -
Make it only effective at close ranges, and get rid of the smart scope on it and make it a tad less accurate. It should be devastating at close range, but not at any other range.

You gotta remember… All pickup guns needs a reason to be picked up. They all need to be better than your normal loadout.
Needler is fine IMO, smg could use a small minor nerf,but grenades are truly the bane of my existence in this game. Also buff the radar and fix vehicle physics.

Superior in certain ways, but not in every way.
Sniper is awesome at range, but if you get rushed at short range it takes real skill to get yourself out of that situation.
BR accurate and great for precision players, but you will likely lose at short range vs AR if you don’t manage to get the perfect kill.
SMG’s should be better, but not better in everyway, you should learn to switch weapons depending on your situation.
I believe close range, SMG’s should have the advantage. Mid range, AR’s should take it. SMG’s should not be able to do much damage mid range.

I don’t think the Needler should be able to kill people as easily as it does. A half round of magnetized needles sprayed at someone shouldn’t be enough to kill on full shield.
