I played Halo 5 for he first time in about half a year… and I have to say, I’m absolutely loving Warzone.
The variety of enemies is absolutely amazing… I wish we saw more of it in the campaign; having the bosses sporadically sprinkled out through level design with different enemy types to overcome with different challenges to revitalise the shooting experience from one encounter to another. It feels like the old games again… especially with the colours and saturation; a breath of fresh air from the usual Forerunner and military palettes.
I would honestly love to see more of this design being featured in the next entry’s campaign. I feel we need sort of a return to basics… and I know a lot of people complain about the art style 343 has taken with the franchise, but I believe that from what I’ve experienced in playing Warzone, that 343 is more than capable of taking Halo not only back to its routes but far beyond the typical structure of its other modern shooter competitors.
Halo Wars 2 looks to be doing a good job of this… albeit not an fps, however the sheer variety of enemies, vehicles and weapons utilised in the gameplay make it look unique and something we haven’t seen in Halo for a long time. The sheer creativity… buck the trend of other modern day shooters and being too serious but focus on making a fun, epic game again.
Anyways, really enjoying the co-op multiplayer…
