Love Service is not the future

This video above kinda isn’t about Halo but since Halo has gone love service stating it’s the future of gaming. And it’s the only way.

I feel this video sums up how wrong that is.

First I had said a few times in previous post, ots only going to take one really good game release to start chipping away at these current games. And thus Elden Ring has entered the fray and came.out hitting hard

The game is not a live service, it can be extremely unforgiving and challenging. It takes time to develop a players character. And it has zero monetization and is basically a traditional game release.

Yet it has garnered huge sales in the short time it was released. And has in a sense pulled me and few people I know away from Halo. An hour of Halo is an hour o rune farms I miss out on.

Halo Infinite has no draw to have me playing hours of the game so far. It has kinda fizzled out a bit. Ots like a good round or two every other day type of game.

Given how bad other games released Halo Infinite had literally no competition. And yet here we are, another love service game seemingly falling to the Anthem curse.

The issue with it was their ambition for profits outwayed their ambition for the games development.

What I mean is for example Elden Ring Devs wanted to make a profit, so they took all the lessons they learned from previous games and created one which encompasses the best of those games into a solid open world game. A game that lets you explore at your pace and doesn’t lock you out of mostyl every area. Trust me I got to alot of areas very underleveled and payed. They didn’t create an in game store. You have to earn everything in game through the grind…

Now Halo Infinite really just feels like a digital.store with a Mobil game attached to it. Everything revolves around that store of theirs. The monetization is basically hey you want the color red for this specific suit… 10 bucks. And before people say cosmetics aren’t that big of a deal, obviously a business and marketing team at 343 thought it was a big deal enough to put the whole thing behind a paywall.

They really have almost nothing to grind for that isn’t behind a secondary paywall. And since the game is free to play it has become tradition to allow quality to fall to the wasteside.ainky because the intitial investment into the game is usually recouped within the first month of the games release through monetization Sales. So if a Free to play game flops it’s usually fine because at the very least they made their money back.

Which I believe 343 has made the money from the initial budget back… This if Halo Infinite flops now, ots fine on their end they recouped their losses and can restart or whatever.

Free to play with heavy monetization a esse really provides the dev the opportunity to make 10x more than their cost. While being able to have the price of mind that if it fails later on its fine money was made.

I believe this is why these Devs are pushing for Free to play, the whole getting a larger playerbase maybe part of it. But it’s mostly a way to kick quality to the side and push out very generic and. Very lackluster content.

Because it’s free to play so it cost you nothing to play right.

haha i read love service instead of live service which I think u were trying to talk about
