I think we all see where Infinite is headed right now. No matter how much us dedicated Halo fans love the game, the population IS declining. There’s plenty of speculation as to what degree, but it’s a clear cut thing that pretty much everyone agrees on. While Infinite is still ranked 5th for all Microsoft games, look at what’s ahead of it. 3 of the 4 are F2P shooters that focus on battle royale. If 343 believes that introducing a BR mode will boost the population, they have no reason not to do so. We know for a fact they can easily make one. Attrition is literally just “battle royale lite”.
The only reason they had before to not have a BR was to appease screaming Halo Boomers. If the strategy of appeasing this player base seems to not be working, why wouldn’t they at least slightly try to appeal to a new player base? I’m just saying it’s not out of the question for them to attempt this and if we’re looking at it realistically, we should be surprised if this doesn’t happen.

Although I would love to see a well done BR mode, a garbage dump version of it would not just scare away BR fans forever, but it would also give Halo a bad image.
343i need to take their time with something like this, so maybe a year or two down the line, but I don’t wanna see it anytime soon.
What is this, a shareholders meeting? I care about Halo because of the gameplay. I used to care about the univserse as well, but I’m not really a fan of what the last decade produced, so gameplay is what is left. If Halo’s traditional gameplay dies, then a BR didn’t “save” Halo imo. I’m not interested in 343’s success, just the success of the game I love.
At this point I think it should be added, and on top of 64-100 players, I think they should put AI enemies on the map as well to mix it up and let players take their weapons.
I think its too late for a BR to “save” Halo Infinite. A good bit of the fan base thats been turned off from this game are the people that didnt want a BR. They have to fix the base “old school” Halo game modes first. (I dont care/dont want a BR, not a fan of that type of game)
With how the game is right now, they probably couldnt even pull the game mode off. There would be way too many problems trying to smoothly connect 100 players. One of the biggest issues… CHEATERS/HACKERS.

Yep spot on, everyone wants to look at the numbers and sales when in reality we the real fans care about the passion we have for this series and the fact it is being driven into the ground. It’s one thing you steer Halo into the wrong directions (ie loadouts) but to release a broken mess of a game to boot is embarrassing and disrespectful at the fullest level.
That would be hilarious to see but at the same time sucking more life from this series. Imagine the engine issues they’d have trying to fit 100 people in Zeta, bro they can’t even figure out how to get Co-op 2 people in Zeta without it exploding LMAO.

How, pray tell me, does adding a battle royale ruin traditional gameplay? This is dumb for two different reasons. Firstly, all your favorite game types would still exist. They don’t have to remove things to add in a BR. That’s just made up in your head. Secondly, what even about battle royales is different than Halo?? It’s just a gigantic game of slayer where you can’t respawn. CoD literally had to add shields and vehicles to their game to make their BR effective and fun. Halo literally already has those things. Your complaints are invalid and you are exactly the type of “Halo Boomer” I was talking about.
Just no. I have had my complaints about Infinite but if 343i force this then it’s basically the final nail for Infinite. If people are that desperate for BR then they should just make it in forge. Forcing something that isn’t part of Halo’s core when there are so many proper Halo things missing would just annoy a majority of the fanbase. Adding BR would be like putting a sign up to the fans that 343i have given up and that would be depressing.
343 is struggling with BTB, so they probably wouldn’t have much luck on creating a stable Battle Royale with a detailed enough map.
Just wait and let the players create it in Forge. They’ll do it better anyways, 343 would just focus more on finding a way to monetize the BR instead of actually making it something worth talking about.
Yah and the weapons we have right now really aren’t enough for random loot spawning in with 100 players. Would probably boil down to players getting lucky with loot always winning instead of straight up skill. I don’t think we have to worry very much, only benefit that would come from it is the final nail in the coffin that would push so many over the edge that still stand neutral.
Sure if they had one in the oven. But unless they outsourced that there’s clearly too much to do on the multiplayer and campaign. If they lacked pretty big features like co op and forge then surely they can’t have also been working on a separate BR mode?
Meh idk because Fortnite had a decently balanced system even with their OP shotgun BS. Maybe you’re right, I haven’t played anything other than Fortnite and maybe 1 match of Warzone in my time.
You literally quoted someone mentioning BTB. If that doesn’t work, how are they supposed to make a BR work? A BR would drain resources on the rest of the game. If they were working on a BR, how long would it take desync to be fixed? Or adding new content at a rate to keep up with demand? How would they add and balance new weapons? In COD 2019 forums, a lot of players hated Warzone because IW changed aspects of the base multiplayer to fit into warzone. Guns were rebalanced, new perks were introduced, new mechanics even (tactical sprint was almost certainly a product of the impending BR). Every new season with new content, the new weapons added would be balanced out of wack. Sure Halo already has shields and vehicles, but that doesn’t mean things will go smoothly lol. This is all not to mention how in COD, it turned regular multiplayer just into a place for Warzone-only fans to show up and farm weapon unlocks and camos, so theyd show up and completely ignore the objective or ignore their K/D lmao.
