In the last 2 days I have ran into quite a few quitters. They either quit when the maps are shown in the lobby or after the maps are voted for. I am assuming they did not get the map they wanted to play on.
This has affected the way I play the game(I am usually more careful when playing 3 against 4). I know the solution is to play with friends and not randoms, however that is not always an option. Is it just me or are people quitting alot more these days ? Also if someone quits on our team please , please Keep playing, we have a chance! Oh Ban Hammer please work your magic!
In new Infinity Challenge yes sure, now have lots of camp and boltshot…
But i see quitters since ever.
Jip promote it and the “poltergeist” (lag appears without migration host connection) of this game, too.
You need better maps. You need awesome vehicles and not boring bland run of the mill 2001 vehicles on those map. The vote system is outdated, it needs to go. I don’t care what Halo fans say about splitting the population, surprise the populations is already divided and don’t want to play with you on that crummy map that you love. Most have played BF3 and you can play Operation Firestorm till you bleed tanks and jets out your eyes if you want to and that needs to happen for Halo.
Because even if it has population of 100 you’re going to match up with people who want to play that game type on that map and not want to quit out because they had to play it a hundred times before joining your game.
Lastly team killers, AFKs, and Vehicle destroyers need to be removed to league of their own via some system like the ban hammer. People who have high Assists and Distractions need to moved into a golden league and given access to Armor and whatever content that is designed well and appealing.
Banning people for hating the game and wanting to protect their K/D and W/L is the fault of the Developer and Community for putting such importance on such game ruining factors on a social setting. Move it to classic and MLG and give the players the option to hide or reveal their stats.
Or fix the hell out of JIP or make the game automatically even the teams in mid game.
> There is no Excuse for quitting. It isn’t The American way.
Somalia, Iraq, Time line to leave Afghanistan, the NASA Space program, I could list hundreds of items but America does very well at quitting things.
However, it is not the American people but rather the politicians to blame. None the less, it gives the impression of America quitting and therefore reflects on its people too.
Having said that, to be fair,I am Australian and I have quit games. Why? When a so called team mate betrays me I leave. If a so called team mate attacks me from getting a vehicle or weapon first, I quit.If a so called team mate kills me just as I am about to cap a flag, I quit…and so on. Why should I tolerate such crap.
Anyways on that note I usually Play from 7-11 PST and I am decent at the game, if anyone wants to play hit me up. I am down for any map and any gametype.

A lot of players just back out of the pre-game lobby when they don’t get their desired map. Their sole purpose in playing this game is to kill farm and boost their KD and Medal counts the easiest way they can. In Big Team, you will always see a few back out if Exile doesn’t appear because they want to continue their pathetic kill farming using the Gauss Hog or Scorpion with their buddies. Just met a guy on the forums today who does exactly that. Can’t drop any names though.
Basically, the option to back out of a lobby if you don’t cast a vote has spawned a problem. It’s encouraging kill farming and boosting because parties can essentially get the map they want most of the time with no consequences, as far as I know. Honestly, the old system where you couldn’t back out from the voting phase unless you dashboarded needs to return.
Yeah, it’s no different than Halo Reach. That game was full of quitters.
Sadly 343 has actually taken a step back in regards to quitting. Sure, they have implemented JIP. But they took away the quit ban. I was hoping the quit ban would have been “buffed” in Halo 4.
I absolutely refuse to play Slayer on Complex now. If it looks like it’s going to win, I’m quitting. Unless my team is partied up from a previous game and I know they’re decent.
I think ive noticed it more since ive been getting Haven less (and only when its not Haven). Ill even admit I did it earlier today when maps popped up and the choices were complex harvest and I believe Shatter and I actually laughed and said “no im not doing that”
Many many fine young gamers have quit.If a game is severely Mismatched badly I quit,If the game is severely buggy or laggy I quit,If I dont feel like playing Haven for 100th time in a day its quit time.At least another player can join mid match unlike older Halo games.
Like most of you I have played every Halo game and I have NEVER quit a game no matter what. Is it to avoid punishment from the ban hammer? No. There are many reasons why I chose to stick around in every match I’ve played all these years:
1)I’m not a quitter. It’s not in my nature. I see things through to the end no matter how unbearable.
2)I don’t like being shorthanded in a match and I wouldn’t do it to anyone else.
3)I’m not self-centred. It’s a team game. Like the saying goes, there’s no “I” in team.
4)A good Halo player can win on any map with any team.
5)Besides, it’s not a matter of winning or losing, though winning is more fun, but it’s all about having fun.
6)Just because you have played the same map 100 times doesn’t mean the match will play out the same way. Also practice makes perfect.
7)Losing and lost are 2 different words. I’ve been involved in some big time comebacks over the years and are my greatest memories of Halo. I once came back from a 20 kill deficit in a BTB match in which my entire team quit on me with the exception of one other player against 6 on the other team. We managed to comeback and win 100-99. Talk about a thrill-ride.
8)Someone betraying you? File a complaint and avoid them. Do you really want to let them get the best of you? That’s why they do it.
9)Playing a match is more fun than finding one and if you continue to quit until you find that perfect match with the perfect team, than the only game you’ll be good at is the MM Lobby.
People should be banned, because they don’t want to play on a map? Ok… If anything I would like a gametype where the maps just continuously cycle. Repeating 1 map 10 games in a row, is not fun.
In my line, most people rage quit, because they are getting “pwned” so badly. For me, I don’t really care about K/D, I just go for fun, so I just stick around, even if someone is obliterating me.
EDIT: Oops, didn’t notice they were quitting before the game even started, that changes everything.
