lots of love for HOLOGRAM in h4

greetings

i was a big big fan of Hologram in Reach, but i seemed to be in the minority.

now it seems that it’s a way more common choice for lots of folks.

i am curious why.

thoughts?

/was cool to see a medal (distraction) that while not exclusively for Hologram - it still offers some reward for quality use of Hologram
/i still think there should be one specifically for assassinating someone who chases your Hologram

cheers

Hologram is my favorite AA as well.

I think a medal would be cool, but not necessary.

It would be ABSOLUTELY AWESOME if aim assist worked on holograms too.

I think holograms are perfect how they are. In Reach, they weren’t that great. They were alright, but Sprint was much better. I constantly trick people in this game with it, and I actually fall for it. Any good players would almost never fall for it in Reach.

I see hologram more than I see jetpackers.

The AI easily fell for it in campaign while it was hardly a practical choice in MP.

Now it seems to be balanced in both game modes. 343 did a great job!

I think more people use it now because the hologram tea bags for you. Lazy punks, I like to do my own tea bagging.

Meh, I used to use it all the time in Reach,(It’s REALLY good) but I might I’ll do something else in Halo 4 if it gets really popular.

I don’t like to use what everyone else is always using.

That’s why I use the Magnum instead of a rifle.

I do both.

Nothing quite like teabagging your fallen foes twice as much. I often high-five my hologram after a successful team--Yoink!-.

Also, the -Yoink!- is useful for tricking foes. Most people don’t expect to see a hologram doing that and think that it’s a real player. Set your auto-bagger and wait for free kills.

so what changed ? what made it better in h4 than in Reach?

i’m not sure that i can tell a difference.

/also: what is this ‘auto teabaggin’ that folks are speaking of??? i send out my Holo all the time, but never seen him -Yoink!- a fallen enemy.

now i’m on a quest to see my Holo drop armored balls on someone

Aim your hologram at a fallen foe and activate the ability, enjoy the show.

Holograms greatest weakness in Reach was the radar, as the hologram actually showed as a different color…making it blatantly obvious it was a hologram.

Halo 4 though, it displays as another red dot. It can fool pretty easily sometimes.

ha! i thought i was the only one that made things intentionally more difficult.

i hardly ever use the AR for example, but in Reach my ToD was far and away the Magnum

not as much in h4 - and honestly, it’s just cause it sounds like a pea shooter. i don’t even know of it’s a power beast or not, it just sounds wimpy and i don’t use it as much.

DMR sounds like a beast though.

still not sure why Hologram is so popular now.

and yes, i fall for it all the time & feel like a tool, but i at least laugh at myself as i’m getting shanked.

Aim the hologram at the head of a dead enemy and it will -Yoink!- it.

You’re just being a hipster. I use things I like, no matter how many people use them.

that is going to bring a grin to my face when i get home tonight!
thanks!

and to fellow / gal just below this: thanks for that explanation… now that you mention it - the Holo IS the same red dot… not kind of an off color like in Reach.

i know that in Reach your aiming dot wouldn’t change to red if you put it on the Holo - not sure if that has changed now.

too bad teabags are worthless because of instant respawns and killcams

Hologram is EXTREMELY useful in team slayer. Use hologram on a dead opponent and it teabags the opponent. I’ve had enemies who look at the t-bagging hologram and think it’s a real person, since usually holograms just walk in a straight line. This results in entertaining scenarios :]

> i am curious why.

Because it actually works in H4.

To me it is only useful in playlists with radar because it shows up on the radar. Often times I haven’t pushed an area in objective games because I thought there were more people in an area than there actually were.
