Whatever happened the GRD Helmet theories?

From what I remember these all started when 343 released an image for the Defiant map pack for Halo:Reach containing the GRD Helmet. Now that 343 owns the rights to Halo rather than Bungie is it possible we may actually see this helmet in Halo 4 or a future halo game?

I believe it was later stated that it was going to be a DLC in Reach but got cancelled. Not sure though.

Seeing as 343 didn’t make the armor I doubt there are any surprises for long time fans of the Halo series.
