It appears that all of my save data for Halo Wars 2 has been deleted.
I am playing on a Windows 10 PC copy of the game downloaded from the Microsoft Store.
My gamertag is vncnth.
My region is USA Central.
Please restore my saves if possible.
My Waypoint profile still shows the latest achievements/unlocks that I had acquired up until then so I have some hope that my save data hasn’t completely been deleted from the cloud.
I’ve done a bit of light research and it appears that this kind of lost data has been a long-standing issue.
Is there any save data localized to the hard drive or user folders?
Or is it all only saved to the cloud?
I know nobody is reading this but here’s an update anyway.
After some testing (reinstalling, messing with options, etc.) I have found that nothing is saving at all.
The Campaign is not able to be saved at all with any manual saves or autosaves locking the Loading Icon in the upper-right corner into a continuous loop.
Campaign Missions are unlocked after completion but are lost upon closing and restarting the game.
This even goes beyond single-players saves and Option Settings like Keyboard Binds and Camera Height to Subtitles and Hitpoint Markers are not saving either.
On the other hand I think all my unopen Blitz Packs that I earned from the half of the campaign I managed to finish are still there though hilariously.
I think I might just uninstall Halo Wars 2 for now unless someone else has any ideas.
It’s a real shame since I bought this less than a month ago and the half of the campaign I was able to finish was really fun up until all my data was lost.
