Lost Req Points

My son had over 100,000 req points. He was making a gold pack purchase and the system crashed, now he only has 48 points. What information do you need so you can see what is going on? I am sending this post from a different account from the one my son is using. His gamertag is dustincraft23.

Thanks

Have you considering rebooting your internet router? Sounds like a profile sync error was behind the lost REQ points.

Thanks, I will try that. What else could be the issue?

Didn’t work, thanks though.

You can check your points here on waypoint. click here If the points appear here on the website a hard reset on the xbox should fix it.

We did try that, thanks. His account is not showing what he says is the correct amount. We did a hard reboot right after this happened. I think what happened was he was purchasing something for lots of Req points, the game crashed, the item didn’t show up when he restarted, and his Req points were gone. Is there any way to find a history of Req points?

Sorry, now I’m on the right profile. New to all this. Just trying to figure it out for my son. The last time I was a gamer was when I played Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance in ‘02/‘03. Thanks for all the help!

The only logical explanation is that your son purchased the Greatest Hits Vehicle Pack from the REQ store which costs 100,000 RP, hence the large amount of missing REQ points. And as the pack was being opened, the game suddenly crashed, leaving you with only 48 RP remaining. If your son bought that pack on their own, there’s not much we can do there.

And if you’re wondering if the contents of the pack were lost as the game crashed, they weren’t. You just don’t know what you unlocked specifically.

Oh, that actually sounds like it is what happened. I would be surprised if he wanted to spend all of the Req points he’s been saving up for months on that. Is there any way to accidentally purchase items? Or is it most likely a case of buyer’s remorse? There is no way to reverse it?

Is this one of those packs where you don’t really know what you get? How can he figure out which vehicles were unlocked?

Thank you for responding! I tried Microsoft and XBox support. XBox tried to have me call Bungie.

Okay, now that I understand more maybe we can figure it out. He bought the Greatest Hits Vehicle Pack. When he was beginning to open it, the game crashed. When he rebooted, he saw he had the same amount of stuff that he had before he bought the pack (according to him). He doesn’t see anything new that unlocked. So, he would rather just have the Req points back and not deal with the vehicle pack. However, if there is a way to see which vehicles unlocked, if any, then he will believe it actually worked.

Thanks again.

Unfortunately that’s not going to happen. Since the pack was opened and added to his inventory, any chance for a refund is now gone. I’ve never heard of anyone getting a refund on a REQ pack after it was opened. I’m not even sure if the game keeps a log of what items you get out of a pack (I know the date & time of opening a pack is logged, but that’s all).

No, there’s no way to see this. The game doesn’t put a marker on new items or anything like that once they’re in the collection. The only time you get to see what you get is during the opening animation. Since he didn’t get to see the opening animation, he won’t know what new items were added, even though they were. They only way he could prove that nothing was added is if he took a screenshot of his entire REQ collection before and after the crash. If he didn’t do that, he’s just going to have to trust that he has more vehicles in his inventory now than before the crash.

Pretty sure you have to press A twice, even when just using RP to purchase a pack. But I guess you could “accidentally” buy a pack if you are pressing buttons too fast and not reading. But buyer’s remorse sounds more likely, especially if you don’t know what you got.

Thanks for taking the time to address all of my questions. It would be nice if players could replay the opening animation or receive a list so they could review what they received more than once.

I will let him know he can use this forum to ask questions because the answers are so thorough and provided by knowledgeable players.
