yeah thereās no bigger sign of things only getting worse
My favoritest zones are A and C
Stop it!
(20 characters)
in social i see a bunch of people do stupid things like just the last stronghold game this guy shot me while i was running from one cap point to another, waste of ammo had he not shot me i may have never turned around to kill him had he not killed me he would have just gottne himself killed
I see similar lack of tactics in oddball people killing each other waaaay far out from the oddball carrier like on the other side of the map do they not realize that you spawn near your allies so kiliing someone on the other side of the map could make them respawn with their allies who may be hunting the ball carrier?
i see the same behavior in CTFā¦
Iāve never liked playing ranked but i consider myself a pretty decent player i can beat almost anyone one on one and sometimes even 2 on oneā¦
Thatās not really a good thing to do most of the time.
Havenāt you ever watched those horror movies where someone says āLetās split up and searchā, and then theyāre shocked to find out that one of them was eaten by a monster, or that theyāre the sole survivor?
There are even 2 fables from Aesop illustrating why thatās a bad idea (āThe Four Oxen and the Lionā and āThe Bundle of Sticksā)ā¦
This happens to me as well most of the time.
I usually cling to my team like white on rice when they have the ball, but when I have the ball, they act like Iām One-Punch Man and can fight the entire enemy team aloneā¦
They should add matchmaking to custom games.
Let people make map-appreciation matches.
I think people look around during matches because theyāre taking a break from playing competitively or because they donāt like a matchās mode, but they donāt want to stop playing altogether.
If 343 would have added more things like Firefight and Forge, you would likely see people doing that less often.
Also, I know some people donāt like it for whatever reason, but a battle royale mode might have also helped.
Itās amusing to see their equipment drop, but it isnāt amusing to have to play the match with less players on the teamā¦
There seems to be a lot of new players. They are probably struggling with strategy. Some may not even know the absolute basics. You might find these things will improve as players ālearn the ropesā.
Bit of a humble brag eh
I feel like the XP system is partially to blame; players are more focused on completing challenges than winning the match and it doesnāt help that thereās no incentive to win matches eitherā¦
My husband has played Halo for years and encouraged me to become involved. Prior to this, I was happy playing, Mario on the Nintendo and Words with Friends and Candy Crush, on my iPad. Just in the last few months, I played a few games of Halo on his account, MCC and Halo 5. The PvE is great. After Infinite started, he encouraged me to make my own account and have a go, especially now that we have another 2 X-Boxes in the house ( 2 X-Box Ones and an X-Box Series S ) and I have certainly had some fun.
Just after I first started, I asked him for the mic, as he had put it away a couple of years ago. He asked me why. I wanted to be able to talk to the team and also ask questions, as to how to play, I am brand new and donāt know a lot of the rules or even what to do. He did say, just be careful, he put it away due to the behaviour of some players. I used it for about 2 weeks and quite frankly, I donāt think I will ever use it again. The abuse that was hurled was incredibly offensive. I stopped using it all together, when one of the players in a game, threatened to ābutt r*pe meā, because I didnāt know the map and fell into a couple of holes and died. He was irate that I was committing sucide, which I wasnāt, I simply did not know the map.
In my first BTB, it was the power cells. I had know idea what to do. I could see the āStealā and where our base was, thatās it. It was quite a disaster. I stuck with some of my team to give them cover and watch how they did things. Same with my first game of capture the zones, I stuck with some of my team to give them cover and watch how they did things. In a game of CTF, once again, same thing, cover my team member and learn how to do it. At one point, my own team member smashed me over the head with the flag, after that, I just kept my distance.
I understand that what you have written is coming from the point of view, of someone who is experienced. I understand that it is probably frustrating to have someone like me on your team, which I have acknowledged in this post. I just wanted to let you know my point of view, as someone who is BRAND NEW, to this game. I read your post and I just felt disheartened, thatās all. I am really trying to become a better player and get that āteamworkā happening. If the better players donāt want us around, then OK, I will go and do something else. If the better players want to mock this post and belittle me, then fine, good bye, I will do something else. You finish of your post with, āFunny replies only pleaseā, sorry, I simply could not think of a funny reply.
I particularly enjoy getting the bots on my team that go 0-20. For the love of God 343, upgrade those bots.
I might do some bot games then, just to get a break from the sweatfest. LOL
groups of 2 are better in my opinion ,my biggest issue is i go my own way, i will defend the flag carrier or ball carrier and grab either but i tend to always go my own way instead of following people also iād like to note that the 4 man centipede idea can also be bad because some weapons can actually overpenetrate or the rocket launcerh andthen you just gave someone a full team kill in social so i think splitting up into 2s is better than a full group sticking togetherā¦
seen that too⦠iāve also seen as i said before people killing enemies that arenāt even close to the oddball instead of getting closer or protecting their carrierā¦
I agree about not huddling together, but being close without hugging your team (especially not when there are power weapons with a large AOE on the map) is usually better than everyone running around on their own.
When I run into enemies alone, there are usually 2-4 of them, and I often end up turning into a piece of Swiss cheese.
Though, Iāll say that I do often run off alone in Slayer, Capture the Flag and Strongholds, since I like doing thatā¦
Splitting into groups of 2 is okay, but itās usually best to only do that in Capture the Flag and Strongholds.
In Oddball, staying somewhat close to the ball-carrier is important for those who care about winning.
Well Friendly fire is turned off the only way to kill each other is with a vehicle you canāt kill your ally with explosives but you can kill yourself with your own explosives.
I can see what youāre saying, but I meant that you donāt want to be huddled together when the enemy team has the large AOE power weapons.
Also, I donāt know about friendly fire being off.
Sometimes I kill an enemy right before my health runs out, but an ally accidentally shoots or throws a grenade at me, and it says I died by the enemy I just killedā¦
Well you donāt have collision with your ally either and that seems to be causing issues also you canāt stand on enemies heads or vechiels either i think.
That sounds normal for a game like Halo.
Honestly, Iād rather that than hear nothing though.
Out of the 171 matches Iāve played, Iāve probably heard players speak or seen them type in about a tenth of those matches.
I write āggā (āgood gameā) even right before a match ends, but I very rarely get a reply.
Maybe 2-3 people have replied with āggā after I wrote that.
Youād think that with cross-platform multiplayer, Iād run into more people speaking or typing.
You might already know the maps now, but if you still donāt, playing custom games might help since youāll be able to explore them without people getting upset.
You can even add bots if you go to Mode Editor, then to Bots, and change the Bot Count for the two teams.
3 for one, and 4 for the other, depending on what team you want to be on, and the FFA bot count is there if you want to try Free-for-All with bots.
Again, that seems to be the nature of multiplayer.
Whenever people do speak or type, I usually get insulted.
There are nice people who probably want to see new players learn, but there are also a lot of rude people who just want them to get good or leave.
Well, Iāve been playing since the first Halo (Combat Evolved), and Iām still not very good at teamwork.
I still get people angry sometimes because Iām probably stopping them from completing challenges or killing an enemy on accident, or Iām accidentally driving them off of cliffs or into the enemy team.
At the end of the day, if people being ill-mannered online is ruining your enjoyment of the games, and itās not something you can ignore, itās probably better to just play offline or play something else.
Even finding some relaxed people to play with instead of random people might help.
Back in Halo 3, Iād wait in Forge mode for the people I usually played with to join me before I played online.
It didnāt stop the enemy team from telling me that I was the worst player ever, but at least my team wasnāt yelling insultsā¦well, at least not at me.
Also, you canāt even hear the enemy team in Infinite, I think (unless youāre on Xbox, which means they can send messagesā¦).
I have not heard anyone using voice and rarely see people typing.
Do you play on the PC version?
Yeah⦠I play on PC and have not heard anyone using voice. itās really a shame itās hardly used while groups continue to use discord and teamspeak⦠itās almost like 343 could have used the time to not include that for pc⦠to spend time on other thingsā¦
