Don’t you sometimes just feel as if Halo is starting to loose its military feeling? Sure finally going Sanhelios was a blast, but it feels like Spartans are just soldiers that go on expeditions to other planets instead of fighting alongside with their fellow boots on the ground. I get that the whole “The Created” arc is going to have us not be in touch with the UNSC and UEG with Earth being sent into a massive blackout, but I would enjoy us having to fight alongside with Marines, Army troopers, Air Pilots and ODST instead of going on a wild goose chase after Cortana and her “Created” alliance. I rather have Halo 6 take place on colonies with an orange filter if that is what it takes. I don’t want Halo to be a game where we have all this Lore especially built around the Colonies and Insurrectionist and not have us meet the famous Ilsa Zane along the way with her own Rebel army.
Welp, that’s where H4 and SPOPS and Escalation and HtT had us going! And then Halo 5 came out. Woof.
I think it’s sad that just because Halo has never had any games about interhuman conflict 343i feels like it can’t make a game that isn’t about blasting away the big bad aliens… PEOPLE LIKE GOOD STORIES 343, NOT ONES THAT ERASE ALL THE PROGRESS THEY’VE MADE JUST SO THEY CAN GO BACK AND DO THE SAME THING OVER AGAIN.
