The fact that they do not allow you to search local/good preference search frustrates me so much. Nearly every game I am quitting due to the connection being bad or a laggy game. It’s making me not want to play halo and put cod in, because cod has local search, you know that’s a bad sign…
I have seen more in game lag than I expected too, more than I’ve seen in any game I’ve played for a long time. I’m waiting for their first official update, I have some hope that they can straighten this stuff out now that they have a big set of performance data to look at.
Welcome to Halo, Master of the most out of date matchmaking system since 2010
Ye 343 only did LAN testing, they never tested what happens when you get 16 people in a BTB game and you have 5 from America, 2 from Canada, 3 from Australia, 2 from Mexico, 2 from new Zealand and 2 from Singapore. They believe that the oceans and distances between these countries is 10 meters.
On top of this they got rid of one of the most fundamental features which is a local search, mind you can be implemented with 5 minutes of work.
Of course they struggled to finish the game and we are currently playing the HALO 4 BETA v1.0 so what did you expect?
I just don’t see how they could possibly be that selfish and brainless to not put a local preference search in…
there are only 2 possibilities with this situation, either they were rushed to release the game or they are completely incompetent. those are the only explanations of the state of halo 4, and if it’s the former, then microsoft is completely incompetent. how does a publisher with well over 10 years of experience not understand that even with a hardcore deadline sometimes it needs to be pushed back. you often times think “well they must know better, there must be some logical reason” but there isn’t.
