I unfortunately didn’t get the LE version of the game. So here I sit at 70, no longer earning exp. Is this exp. still being accumulated just not showing so when I get to choose a new specialization I get my exp.? Or am I just losing everything? I have already got 2-3 commendations completed after 70.
I have also lost exp. before…
When I had about 300 exp. to go before SR50 I played a big team. I still had some 2xp games left too. So for the game I got about 5600 exp. I also completed the 3rd level of Spartan Slayer for 5000 exp. Total should have been 10,600, right? Wrong! It gave me the 300ish exp. I needed to get to SR50 then did not give me the rest because I had to choose a specialization. When I chose Operator, it kept me at 0 exp. So I basically lost over 10,000 exp.
I have probably earned about 20,000 exp. since being SR70. I would really hope that I don’t lose it all.
Remember when Reach came out, there was a level cap but any cR you earned was still added to your rank, just not visible until the ranks were released. I jumped like 4 complete levels after the ranks were released.
Please 343i, don’t neglect this. If you do, it’s basically saying, “Well… You didn’t buy the LE so oh well.”

i think we can all agree, the way 343 handled the whole specialization code situation was nothing short of awful.

I just hit 70 as well and I gotta say I’m really concerned for Halo 4 when the majority of players hit SR130 and if nothing has been changed. I’m really not having any fun with H4 and I’m on the other end of the AA spectrum. I love gimmicks and gadgets and OP weapons, anything to break the monotony of the same old same old. To be honest everything is sort of polished and cool looking but really boring and bland at the same time. I can’t get into Forge due to the feel of the maps and boundaries. Spartan Ops is fun on Monday, but come Thursday I’m ready to put in BF3 or Skyrim, due to the players betraying or the sheer annoyance of the dialogue and repetition.
I was never a PVP guy, I like big maps because I like an open terrain and some freedom for the Vehicles. Other than Raganarok I’m sorta cramped and very wary of using vehicles. I’m sorry guys and 343, I just can’t find anything fun in Halo 4 that makes me want to play it when capped at a Level, because really it’s the hope of finding some new Loadout or Armor content that is the last of the gaming joy to be had in this title with all the serious issues I’m facing with H4.
Now this is just me. I’m glad for you that guys love it. I’m envious. But I’m starting to feel that 343 should just make Halo 5 what the H3 guy want it to be. 1-50 , no AAs, No DMR, whatever it is that keeps them coming back and happy. Because I really can’t get into a game with AAs that are so watered down, vehicles that are the same from a title ten years ago, and anything like a Mantis that’s been so limited and made so uninspiring to really come back to Halo. I’m the other end I want super powers for AAs and vehicles that go all out in awesomeness, or I can fully run on massive maps to explore, where movement is insane.
My hats off to you 343, you did excellent job creating a balance between the traditionalists and the I guess the COD crowd I’m not really sure what you call a person who’d rather a Armored tank Robot over a puny floating auto turret. So I guess COD, though I never played it. Nobody’s from either side is really happy with the turnout, but It works on some levels for the middle so that’s a good thing.
Well here’s to Mondays and Spartan Ops. Sorry BS, wish I could be more supportive but I’m sorta depressed with H4 in it’s current state.
Why would you “not play” because you don’t get XP? It’s not like there is a set finite number of games you can play. Play before the XP cap ends, play after.

Let me just say, if you are going to encourage people to buy special content, add something to the game don’t block other players that is backwards.

I can’t find any fun reasons to play. That’s the issue. Take Spartan Ops. Monday I’ll play it no matter the cap, but after Tuesday and the griefing begins and how players act like -Yoinks!-, the Lag, and Palmer just being a -Yoink-, other than the payoff of the grind why grind, because by Thursday it is a grind. So I rather play something else.
Same with War Games. I like driving vehicles, but we all know how that goes on maps like Exile. I guess I’m picky. But with the giant maps in BF3 and the fact I can drive a Tank faster than I can run, makes Wargames sorta passe when theres no real pay out in enjoyment. That’s why I’m saddened. I shouldn’t care about XP, but it’s the only driving force in Halo 4 for me to play it.

And my case in point, the community is full of a-holes. Real incentive to join a match without XP to offset the now over abundance of annoyance of the xbox live population.
I love Halo and was waiting for Halo 4 ,however the shop i pre ordered mine from had sold out of its LE pre orders so this doesnt mean im not a fan someone was always going to miss out and to be honest if i knew that to rank higher i had to spend more then i would NOT have purchased it thats blackmail its not that i couldnt afford it its the principle. 343i are not gamers,fans or love the community they see us as a cash cow …fact. so dont pretend your anything else its an insult! and if they are not going to let you rank beyond 70 then i suggest we wrapp our copies up and post them to bs angel at 343i and go and buy black ops if they start getting hundreds of copies returned everyday then they might think twice for halo 5…i know ranking up isnt everything but its something you get as a reward for skill or just playtime and it something to keep you playing for bragging rights in lobbies or with your friends, im on 56 so ive got a bit of time but mine will be in the post if they dont free up the ranks !

Number 1, I’d LOVE to see your proof of this ‘fact’.
Number 2, you’re going to spend more money, to ship a game you payed for to the community manager, simply because you can’t get your arbitrary number up past a certain point, when they announced well before the game ALL spec will be available eventually? Sure, that makes perfect sense.
I spend a lot of money to be able to play games on the net. I will not be extorted to buy special content. The game should come as a complete package. I won’t buy Halo 5 if 343 wants to extort me for more episodes.

Nothing is preventing you from playing Halo 4 online, only your self imposed lock out, and no one is extorting ANYTHING from you. You’ve obviously played within the early adopter time frame, so you’ll be getting a code at somepoint in the next 6 days. If anyone should be pissed, it’s the people just now picking up the game.
And since it can stand to be posted AGAIN :

See that highlighted bit? EVERYONE gets access to EVERYTHING in due time. Remember Bungie locking out the higher ranks on Reach until 117 challenges were completed?
No one is being extorted, no one is taking extra money from you. Extortion implies force, and I sure as hell don’t remember being forced to buy Halo 4.

Specializations, Dumb, Dumb , had to buy LE…
I really like Halo 4, the graphics are amazing, I even have became situated to the gamestyle, nonetheless I like the game.
Just because you cannot rank up past the set amount (Being ATM SR 70 - SR 130) doesn’t mean the game is not fun. I have beat Campaign Solo Legendary and still need to beat it CO - OP Legendary. I still need to find terminals, as well as complete some Achievements. As well as me wanting to beat the game on all other difficulties and plus the dreaded LASO. I have beat all Spartan OPS mission Solo Legendary about half CO-0P too. I have played them on other difficulties, and grabbed different weapons, took different routes, and got cool assassinations. Mutiplayer is fun and just to play, develop technique is worth it’s weight in gold.
But don’t limit yourself to Halo, that is not what Xbox is about, play BF3, Skyrim, Achievement hunt, whatever.
What I am trying to say is ENJOY YOURSELF. I eat , breath , love Halo. That’s how I enjoy myself. Do what you want, different strokes for different folks, just because you leave, Halo 4 will not collapse, they will be players on it till the next Halo game comes out.
