Losing comm's with fireteam

has anyone heard any update on being able to remain in contact with your fireteam whilst navigating different game lobbies? It’s quite an annoying feature that does not lend its self to remaining in game chat and is forcing us to use party chat which is not ideal for matchmaking.

I wouldn’t call the chat not working a feature…

Why wouldn’t you?

Is it not a “distinctive attribute or aspect of” the current game chat (non)function?

Regardless, it is extremely annoying. It doesn’t give you time to talk to your fireteam in between matches and leaves you having to discuss tactics or last nights dinner menu whilst in game which is often too late or too distracting.

thanks for your input though. Extremely helpful it was. :frowning:

Why is party chat not ideal for matchmaking if you want to talk to your fireteam?

Why don’t you just switch to game chat while you’re in the game? Then once the match ends, you can switch back to a party chat while you wait.

Because we’re not always a full team and like to try and communicate with whoever we are teamed with during games and with the opposition in post game lobbies - like it used to be.

I think the lack of people who utilise the game chat during a match is detrimental to halo.

In my opinion, Party-chat should not be cited to excuse a poorly implemented game/lobby-chat system.

Lol you haven’t met our Spartan Company  I’ve tried on a number of occasions to implement what you suggest but with the search times in H5 being so low (a good thing) my team are rushing to roll smokes grab drinks etc and just don’t manage to keep it up lol
Quite frankly our company is a bit special (not in the entitled way) and there’s a reason our clan name is incorrectly spelled

Sorry to bump this but it’ll be my last comment in here, as it seems this is not an issue for anyone else, or it may be an intended part of the lobby system.

If this issue is an intended one (though I can’t think why it would) then I’ll accept it and suffer it.

However, playing in the arena last night my point was kind of proven. Myself and a friend searched together and were consistently paired with others searching in twos. It seemed though that mostly everyone else has given up on game chat or switching back in from the party chat because, nobody spoke!

Honestly, if we could have communicated with our team mates we definitely would have completed more objectives and maybe won a game or two more.

I can’t say for sure that a game chat that allows you to stay in contact with your fire-team permanently would bring back the people who exclusively use party chat but I think it may help.

Short version: fix game chat and we may have people actually communicating in game.
