I have a theory… what if in Halo 4 when Master Chief walked into that beam and met with the Librarian… what if everything going past that moment is a dream or foresight? Remember that the forerunners are/were one of the most intelligent species in the Galaxy so Illusional foresight isn’t far from them.
What if Halo 5 is a what if? ‘This is your future if proceed the course’
I’m hoping that Halo 5 isn’t reality that way we can an amazing story (not written by Brian Reed) from the next instalment. If the flood are returning at some point the Didact could be a valuable Allie. Just how that’s going look may vary
honestly I would not really enjoy this, this would be the “it was all just a dream” cliche thing or whatever that would be, and it has no real place in halo. it would feel out of place and kind of annoying. (sorry if that sounded mean but I think they should just tank it then salvage this story ark.)

Lol, it’s a good idea but I can assure you it won’t be the case.
For 343 to do that, would basically be saying out loud they messed up. They screwed the MCC, and then they retcon halo 5’s story, that’s a lot of PR to deal with.

They already admitted to messing up the MCC and Halo 5… so I don’t know… even if they won’t admit it, the fans have clearly spoken… they are both broken/messed up

It’s a Sci Fi game… it already has it’s Sci Fi cliches. This wouldn’t be too cheesy rather I’d enjoy the difference (“I’d” that’s me personally, I don’t speak for everyone)
You can have a second Halo 5 seeing as Halo 5 is currently Halo 5 Guardians… There could very well be another title without messing up the current set up.

Yes, and then Chief wakes up and says “it was a dream!” And Cortana comes out of the shower in a surprise ending… It didn’t work for Dallas, (yes I’m that old), and it wouldn’t work for Halo.

I think they have an overall outline for the next game or two…they would have to know where they are going and might fill in the tiny details of how to get there later but surely they didn’t just write halo 5 and then go well what next. There’s a plan and hopefully it will all make sense once they next game or two come out…unless this was all a dream
I would love this! Personally I never quite liked halo 5 so I think that this could help take it out of canon. That or they could do what J.J Abrams did to into darkness (Star trek I know has nothing to do with halo, but it’s an example) and make it uncanon. What do you guys think about it?
I know there’s just realistically no way in the world they’ll actually do something like that - they’d get crucified by the gaming media for not being able to fix their own narrative and they know it’d make things look even worse than they already do… but honestly, after trying and trying to force myself to look positively and constructively upon the Created arc and try to find ANY way to redeem it for myself, I still just can’t. Get rid of it. As fast as they can. I personally would not care if they did this at all.

If 343 was to try and cover up the plummet of halo 5 amd come out with the all a dream and just magically expect the fan base to forget and go back to normal that would be a kick in the nuts and spit in the eye to the followers. This is not something that you can just brush off and like i read a few other say “they just have to make halo 6 better” thats all they can do, jyst accept that it wasnt the best and move on dont try to play it off like a solid plan all along because that wont work

Gotta love how they admit to having messed up every single game that they’ve put out, huge bugs and the issue of not actually using Halo 1 multiplayer for CEA, Halo 4 was an atrocity that died within 6 months of release, MCC was and still is broken over 2 years later despite their promise to get it to 100% functional and they screw up Halo 5 too.
At this point I don’t know why Microsoft hasn’t dissolved the company and rebuilt a new company from scratch to redo the failed games that 343 Industries tried to make.
