Quick question. Does anyone know what the metal plate on the back of Lord Hood’s head is for?

At first I thought it was for an AI to be placed in or to prevent the Covenant from extractin top secret info from his head

His nueral implant? That’s something that most UNSC personnel have. It holds information, and I believe it allows them to operate vehicles and, in the case of naval officers, command their ships and even fleets.

You can actually see Keyes’s on the back of his head in the opening scene of Halo CE, on the bridge.
They look similar, nearly identical, to the ones on Hood’s neck. Obviously Hood’s are bigger, but, you know, he’s the ADMIRAL OF THE HOME FLEET OF EARTH instead of the Captain of a single cruiser. More power, more problems as the old saying goes.
