Loot box Update

343 has already said no loot boxes, but the update today clarified it even more.
Sounds promising, but I’m still unsure how bad/good the final monetization method will be.

> - We maintain a player-first focus. Think of all the games we’ve all played that have random rewards, ask people to play a way they hate just for a new shiny, or weaponize FOMO against the player. There will be limited-time events, but we don’t want to turn free time into a chore. We’re not all about that. Everyone should enjoy their time in Halo Infinite. - Unambiguous Value. If someone invests their time or money in the game, they should understand what they’re getting and that it will be worth more than the investment. Examples of this in practice include no lootboxes, either through engagement or any premium route. And we’re not selling power or giving an unfair advantage in-game via any route. - Provide Value. Combined with our engagement pillar we want to be clear about how to earn rewards. Most of all, we want to bring the best set of cosmetic-only rewards to Halo. We want great looking assets and ways to show that Spartan off. We want players to get close to their Spartan and spend time swapping parts and pieces. - It has been said before - and it’s important to restate - no loot boxes, no randomness in rewards.

"Not selling power” is a very nice departure from Halo 5’s REQ system. I’m so satisfied with this update.

This excited me…way a lot. Imagine that you can buy your own armor parts, like helmets in a daily store. That sounds promissing, I have a lot of faith that lootboxes can get out once and for all of the mainline halo games.

thank god battlefront 2 happened, and thank you activision for popularizing the battle pass trend in all games as a replacement for lootboxes
