loosing intrest in halo 4

since some employee left 343 because he thinks halo 4 isnt what it used to be it made me loose intrest.

it made me think if an employee who gets to help create halo can loose intrest it sounds a lot easier for an average gamer to aswell.

not to mention the last halo 4 trailer sucked since it was artwork that might not even show up in the game since after all it is only prototype artwork.

what could get some people who have lost interest to have intrest. well my idea a new PROPER trailer.

im more curiouse then the monkey whos name always escapes me what is halo 4 about there is no story line so far chief goes into a giant butt hole in space thats all any of us ever know so far.

He left because he wasn’t being given enough freedom to create the halo HE wanted. 343i obviously wants halo 4 to remain true to its roots, and he obviously wanted a dramatic departure from that.
I was actually relieved by his resignation.

lol, just be excited about CEA for now, and they’ll talk more Halo 4 stuff early next year at the latest, I’m guessing.

Dude, it’s still a long way til it’s release. I’m not expecting a significant amount of information for half a year or so.

remain in its true roots? dose that mean halo’s changing if so i think im done with it. when a game changes it sucks dont beleave me go play some of ur child hood games in the mordern day.

Sonic the Hedgehog
Spyro the Dragon
Crash Bandicoot

How can Halo change when its going to stay true to it roots.

Ok, why the Hell did you have to mention Crash Bandicoot. Now you reminded me of my favorite childhood game that got destroyed completely.

By the way, Halo isn’t getting changed dramatically, what he was trying to say is that the employee wanted to changed the game dramatically, but they prevented him from doing that.

I have to agree with this. If you read the quote from the former employee you can see he wanted to take Halo to some place 343 wasn’t willing to take it. I was also relieved to hear the news.

Where did you hear this?

The game is a year away. Give them time to throw some actual trailers together. Maybe they just aren’t ready/willing to show anything yet?

> not to mention the last halo 4 trailer sucked since it was artwork that might not even show up in the game since after all it is only prototype artwork.

The trailers for Halo CE,2, and 3(not so much) would like to call you.

> well my idea a new PROPER trailer.

Hence teaser trailer. You really think they’re going to show key aspects more than a year away from release?

> so far chief goes into a giant butt hole in space thats all any of us ever know so far.

lol Really?

I’m losing interest myself, but I consider that a good thing. It keeps me less focused on the game, and it’ll keep me from spoiling myself about every detail on the game before it’s even released.

I don’t understand what you’re getting at here. I said the guy left because he wanted halo to stray away from its roots, something that 343i didn’t want.

Ok, don’t buy the game then.

That wasn’t a “trailer”, it was a concept art glimpse. Glimpse.

Exactly.

This is actually a VERY GOOD sign we’re getting from 343. Basically saying:

“we aren’t going to make another Reach guys, don’t worry”.

I dont understand why you’d lose interest in something that no one knows the details of yet.
And that employee you’re talking about:

“Continuing, Payton added, “The Halo I wanted to build was fundamentally different and I don’t think I had built enough credibility to see such a crazy endeavor through.” This doesn’t mean Payton thinks Halo 4 will be a bad game. The core team is top flight, and they are there because they want to make the best Halo they can. It’s just not the Halo Payton wanted to make.”

It seems you’ve misunderstood the reason he left.Read the whole article here: Kotaku

To the person who mention Sonic, Spyro, and Crash;

Spyro: the new games we’re the same as they old gameplay-wise. So god forbid they add new elements of storyline.

Sonic: there have been a few ‘eh’ moments during the newer games but you can’t entirely say they changed for the worst. Personally I liked Unleashed a lot. And Generations looks good thus far.

Crash: I will admit they aren’t the linear rail-styled games they used to be but none were what I’d call ‘bad’, just different.

My point being that a series isn’t going to stay the same forever. Story, gameplay, whatever. Everything changes. Thats how this industry works. Change is good.

And if you think about it, thats how a lot of industries work. There’s a lot of bands/artists in the music industry who have strayed far from their roots to keep up with what’s popular and selling.

I’m not saying I hope H4 strays from the Halo roots but I’m saying if it does, that doesn’t mean ‘instant suck’. Could be for the better. We dunno yet.

What I don’t understand is how Spyro the Dragon made the list and Mario didn’t. Maybe im just upset because I’m realizing my childhood was in the mid 80’s and I feel old when someone mentions Crash Bandicoot as a childhood game, but come on. Hahahahh I’m not really knocking it, never played it, it just struck me funny.
