Looks like I'll be re-installing Halo 5 soon

The announcement of classic playlists coming soon is awesome. It is the only reason I have to ever play Halo 5 again. No other playlist interests me at all because they’re all plagued with the sprinting and the abilities. I only played about 8 games of Halo 5’s multiplayer before putting my disk on the shelf to collect dust. That’s about as much of it as I could stomach.

I’ve been saying for months that I would love to be a Halo fan again, but 343’s gameplay design makes it impossible. This classic playlist will be a welcome change to that. It’s pretty late in the game, and so many players like myself have been driven away. So, I don’t expect the playlist to be overly populated. But I still hope that it sticks around as a permanent playlist.

I’d also wait for details on the playlist before deciding to hop back into it. It may be something as simple as the Spartan Abilities being removed, which will basically render the game to being like Halo 4 without AA’s.

True. What you’re describing is still an improvement over Halo 5’s default setup though. Hopefully they’ll take the time to tweak the base movement speed and jump height on top of removing sprint/abilities.

If this playlist does well, maybe we can hope for a classic Warzone variant. Warzone was a good idea. But, just like every other game mode, it is brought down by the sprinting and the abilities. And despite what some say, the maps aren’t too big to work without sprinting. The very first Warzone game I played, I made it a point to only run normally and not use sprint. The map played just fine except for the disadvantage I was at against the other players that were sprinting. Hell, if we got a classic Warzone variant, I may even end up buying some REQ packs.

I know lots of people don’t like sprint, but I’ve never heard of anyone going to such lengths to protest against it

I’ve seen them.
Usually they’re the people who feed me kills while playing Assault. Perfects for DAYS.

When were classic playlists announced? I heard a community manager teased something like that, but I didn’t know they were confirmed.

Here is the info.
BACK IN THE SADDLE

Looking at 343i’s track record, they’ll probably just add it to the weekly rotation of playlists so you can only play it for that one week at a time.

I am looking forward to seeing what these classic playlist’s consist of. Could be interesting but I’m not going to quite hold my breath just yet.

That’s probably true. I hope not though. If I have to uninstall Halo 5 again, I probably won’t bother ever putting it back on my hard drive.

I’m gonna wait and see how it goes, if it becomes an actual playlist, then I may reinstall it, but probably not. the storage used or taken up by Halo 5 has already been put to use.

Unfortunately, this classic playlist won’t be what so many are hoping it will be, as stated by ske7ch in this post.

Apparently there might still be hope for it though.

Well, -yoink-…

What’s the point, then? Anyway, thanks for the info.
