Looks like 343 did it again.

Well, having just watched the RT flythrough of Battle Canyon, it looks like 343/(Certain Affinity?) overloaded the map with power weapons- just like they did with the the Defiant maps. I mean really, who think one sniper, one rocket launcher, one sword, two grenade launchers, and two shotguns on a smaller map will work?

Atleast this is something we can easily fix later, unlike the lack of ambient sounds and poor design of previous maps. 343, I’m not impressed so far.

In the Reachified map versions, you can justify more power weapons due to the AAs.

The Classic version should be as it was remembered.

There are currently 7 power weapons on the map! That means all but one person in a 4v4 can rock a power weapon. I seriously doubt the fact that we can fly and travel across the map faster will compensate for the number of power weapons. If you want to compensate for AA’s, you should give weapons more ammo- not flood the map with more weapons.

343 didn’t make Defiant or these maps, Certain Affinity did.

Also, Defiant was great!

Anyways, on-topic, due to the AA’s and the fact Sprint & Armour Lock makes life easier to avoid Power Weapons, it shouldn’t be a problem, and also, faster paced action.

Don’t worry about it. Grenade launcher takes skill to use anyways plus you just have to play smarter. Also a closer ranged map wth a sniper means you are going to have to be very good with it if you want to get kills.

Just my opinion, but I felt the Defiant pack was aweful. The flow was terrible, and the lack of ambient sounds killed them for me. The power weapon flooding was just icing on the cake.

And, as I said before, adding more ammo to power weapons is the much more effective way to compensate for AA’s.

And power house doesn’t op? hammer, grenade launcher, beam rifle, rockets, shotgun. It looks fine to me, by the way, the defiant maps play way better than default reach maps.

Well this is the way the maps were in previous games, except for the two grenade launchers, but grenade launchers aren’t really ever a problem.

This. Also grenade launchers, and arguably shotguns, aren’t power weapons. Otherwise that would make every non-pistol/rifle pick-up a power weapon.

beam rifles and shotguns are power weapons?

If i can remember Halo 2 probably had the best maps and they always had power weopons all over the map for example Ivory Tower had rocket launcher, sniper, shotgun, energy sword.

Cry Moar.

Not impressed? Are you blind!? 343 has remastered the story that started it all. They have layered a new HD engine over a 10 year old engine designed for the first Xbox. They are making the next Halo trilogy, trying to keep the Halo universe alive. They are bringing back 7 of our favorite maps from Halo CE and Halo 2, and loading them with explosive goodies. Your not impressed?

your surprised by this?

The only thing lacking is them showing up in matchmaking.

You completely dismissed his post. That’s Reach version of the map (Battle Canyon), they can always update it if there are too many power weapons on the map.

But really, you should being playing the original remake :stuck_out_tongue:

i believe that the definition of a power weapon, is a weapon that can down shields in one hit, therefore, shotguns are power weapons, as are plasma pistols, i don’t think beam rifles can count though, they suck

why don’t you just look at the Waypoint homepage?

maybe play it first?
