Looking To Get Back Into Halo From Years ofAbsence

Hey guys,

I was a pretty big Halo player the majority of my gaming life. My service record tells me that I’ve played 1427 Halo 3 games, but given that most of the achievement stats and other info is a little bugged, I feel like that’s way too low of a play count for me. Anyway, for whatever reason, I had to part with my Xbox 5-6 years ago as I lost my income. When things got steady, I went to PC gaming and as that kinda negated the Xbox, I bought a PS4. Over the years I’ve definitely missed this game, and as of tomorrow I finally have an Xbox One X arriving, and I’m itching to get back to my pride and joy!

As I hear, there’s still a small community playing the various games released from over the years. My question is; what game is currently best to play regarding play count and community sportsmanship? And can I just download the old games from the store, or would you guys recommend playing on the MC collection?

Cheers

Well first off welcome back!!

I would recommend getting MCC if you’re looking to play the older games. Sportsmanship is a little lacking in the multiplayer of MCC right now due to the large amount of players going AFK or betraying teammates. MCC is still a lot of fun despite those flaws and Reach is being added to it so it’s getting even better.

Another game I would recommend is Halo 5. The campaign wasn’t the best in the series but the multiplayer is amazing in my opinion. The custom game community is still going strong in Halo 5 as well.

If you’re looking to play H3 again which is what it sounds like, definitely bite the bullet and buy MCC. Higher resolution, higher framerate, modern aim, dedicated servers, and most importantly that’s where the players are out. The original H3 is vastly inferior and I don’t know how many games you’ll be able to get in. Welcome back by the way

MCC is the best way to get back to it! It’s got nearly every feature (lacking full customization) from the older games but looks and feels so much better to play.
