I decided about a week and a half ago that I was going to stop playing Match Making (except for a few matches here & there) and that I was going to play through all of the Halo Campaigns starting with Reach. I even stopped after the “Metropolis” mission on Halo 2 to play ODST, then back to H2 so it would all fit chronologically. I just started Halo 3 and I gotta say, I’m really looking forward to Halo 4’s campaign. I haven’t played through it in a while, and not to say the other don’t live up (Combat Evolved is my favorite campaign) I’m just looking forward to the gameplay, the pace, the visuals, and the audio. I even busted out my studio headphones (you’d be surprised how much more immersive that is).
The only down side will be ending on Spartan Ops … I love Spartan Ops, but it DRAGS if you try to play straight through.
Anyone else ever do that? Play all the campaigns in order over a short period? Or do you people all have cable? lol
I did this just before Halo 4 was released. Its amazing how much more sense Halo 4’s campaign makes if you take time to play the others, finding all the terminals etc to fill in the blanks.
I go through all halo campaigns in order of events that take place in the series at least once a year.
I don’t do it too often but I have done Spartan ops solo heroic on deaths.
I’ve done this three times already

Wow, nice job. I bet that was fun.
This was actually the way I was introduced to Halo.
The 360 I bought had Reach bundled with it so I played Reach first.
Then I downloaded CE, bought 2, 3, ODST and 4.
Maybe this is why I’m not so down on Reach as many other Halo players.
Another thing - ODST arrived at just the right time when I was starting to get bored being a super-soldier. Just to be a trooper was refreshing, and having to skulk a fair bit instead of running & gunning was a whole new learning curve.
As for MM, I prefer anniversary CE to any of the rest - just my opinion.
This is a great idea, which I have never done actually. I think I might go this route since the MM is starting to get a little uninteresting to me lately.
I like the idea of keeping with it chronologically as well.
