Looking forward to Campaign

I can’t wait to explore a brand new Halo ring. I think 343 is going to deliver with an epic campaign of massive landscapes, awe inspiring Forerunner architecture, and great plot reveals.

I really hope they’ve taken inspiration from ODST with level design and we get to fly a pelican around Zeta Halo.

I also hope there’s a classic hero theme to the story, that would be a great return to form after Guardians.

I am also very excited to see the campaign levels from the upcoming Halo Infinite. I really want to explore the Zeta Halo Ring in the new Halo video game. And, I am very excited that Master Chief will be the main character again in Halo Infinite.

I have the feeling the game will be open world but a new way of open world that could let us explore the whole zeta halo ring and without rpg elements since there is gonna be a competitive multiplayer aiming to classic halo and implementing gameplay features with new mechanics and equipment thats my hope

  • Firing Halo 5 writer
  • Hiring Batman Arkham narrative director. Paul Crocker
  • Hiring Bioshock writer and producer as narrative lead. Joe McDonagh

Halo 5 had some pretty interesting ideas but were poorly executed. In the end, I feel like it opened doors to numerous storytelling possibilities for Infinite.

By the way, anyone here played the Bioshock trilogy? I haven’t. But I heard the stories are great.

Not that much excited. Don’t wanted to be dissapointed again - but if they do it right, I have no problem to say “finally - a worthy game, thank you”

Same here. After H5 I wasn’t very excited for the campaign but after the 2019 trailer something just feels right, can’t wait to see if they’ve improved.

MS and 343 know this has to be monumentally great to win back fans. They have the manpower and talent but it takes more. I’m hopeful they can pull it off but they need to have looked at Halo1 I believe to really tap into why Halo is so great to begin with

Did they also hire the Bioshock writer, or was that just a hope of yours? Because both of your first two bullet points are true

The original Bioshock and Infinite are some of the best narratives I’ve ever experienced in any video game. You can skip the sequel though, it wasn’t made by the same team.

Hope, adventure, discovery are all themes I hope are included. I think they just needed to start with a traditional hero mythos and build off that.

I’m not too hyped over it because of Halo 5’s campaign so I’m remaining cautious while being interested to see what the story is going to be like

I’m looking forward to the campaign as well, But I’m being cautiously optimistic. All we’ve seen is the opening cutscene and an engine trailer with a few story hints. To be truly excited I need to see campaign gameplay. It’s unfortunate that some toys leaked prior to July, it ruins some surprise, but has increased my excitement. But until July, until we know for sure, I will remain cautiously optimistic.

If that’s the case im sure Infinite will have a great story.Loved both Bioshock and Batman Arkham games and their stories.

I had a random thought yesterday-- what if we have a semi-linear campaign with the Chief going to various locations that takes like a standard 8-10 hours to complete, but then afterwards you could replay the game in a more open world style with your own Spartan from mulitplayer. Kinda like a mix between Spartan Ops and Destiny, the way you play through the initial story missions within these huge environments, and then after you can go through it in a more exploratory way.

And lore wise it could make sense too; Chief does whatever he does in the campaign (wins the battle and what-not) and then afterwards the UNSC sends in groups of Spartans to clear out the remaining Covenant/Created. If they do it like Destiny they could continue it for a while post-launch with new challenges and bosses, etc. and you could basically have Firefight zones exist within the open world.

Kind of a far out idea I suppose, but how dope would it be to be running around an open world Halo ring with your custom fireteam?! Get 4 Spartans in a pelican to drop off at an ongoing battle, maybe even up to 8 or 16 in a single game?? But I’m probably just getting my hopes up now lol

Omg, this is the best idea I’ve ever heard!!! The’l probably mess it up though.

I don’t want the Campaign to be Destiny like. This mode you talk about can be separate from Campaign like Firefight and Spartan Ops were.

I’m looking forward to the game, but I am trying to keep my expectations in check. I am hoping they will be able to get themselves out of the corner they wrote themselves into with H5, but I am trying to not overhype myself so I don’t get disappointed. I really hope they blow the story out of the water though

Mint speculate infinite will be open world similar to destiny, how would y’all like a campaign like that?

I’m not familiar with Destiny but I’m open to it. Part of me just wants to explore a Halo ring, discover artifacts and unravel the mysteries of this universe. Sprinkle some Covenant/Flood conflict in there and it’ll be a hit.
