I am looking for permission to build an actual Warthog.
So the first two things are, 1) Yes, full size, driving Warthog based on a well known 4x4 platform. And 2) Yes, it has been done before, I am certainly not the first to think of it.
Here’s the problem, the Warthog is Microsoft’s IP and while they do have a very generous “Game Content Usage Rule”, my problem is that if I sink this much time and money into this I want to be able to promote on my Podcast & YouTube channel, accept sponsors for the project and eventually recoup much of the cost by selling it, which are all outside of said Game Content Usage Rule.
I have asked a few departments at Microsoft and they all tell me to apply for donations through the normal channels for non-profits.
I Am Not Looking for Donations from Microsoft!
I am looking for permission in some form or fashion so as to not infringe on their copyrights.
Does anyone have a good point of contact or a direction to start with?

Not officially from support land (that would be a cool forum rank though), but I can try my best to help you out.
> Microsoft grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-sublicenseable, non-transferable, revocable, limited licence for you to use and display Game Content and to create derivative works based upon Game Content, strictly for your personal, non-commercial (except as specifically provided below) use.

This means you can’t charge money in exchange for your Item, post it on a site that requires subscription or other fees to view the Item, or post it on a page you use to sell other items or services (even if they have nothing to do with Game Content or Microsoft). You also can’t use Game Content in an app that you sell in an app store.
There are a few ways you can make money off of it though.

Not sure if that’s exactly what you were looking for, but I figured I’d give it a shot. Also a little off topic, but post bumping is against forum rules. I’d highly suggest reading them before continuing to post to avoid further consequences.

The forum rules prohibit post bumping. Please don’t do that in the future.

Not exactly. Here’s the problem…

Additionally I apologize for the breaking of the rules. I had no intention of breaking them, but as I was refereed here from MS support chat as the official 343 support I was interested in getting the question answered, as I am still…
How do I get permission or buy a license to do this?
Duly noted, thank you comedy.
Update on problem:
I have contacted media support (as I qualify for media) and also “Assembly” as directed by the media division. Still to no avail.
I am thinking that perhaps renting a billboard and in large letters say something to the effect of “Dear Microsoft, I want to pay you money. Please let me know how. Sincerely, a fan of Halo.”
