Looking for JS/FrontEnd devs for API collaboration

Hi everyone,

We’re a small team looking for a new team member with enough dedication and interest to lead (or strongly support) the development of a statistics web app and shape the project with us. If you have a passion for graphs or development and want to consistently invest some of your spare time in the next weeks to built a great tool for the Hal𝗅o community (or yourself) read on:

Goals:
Our main goal is to release a very polished product that is a joy to use. Good UX as well as user-centered design and code are very important. We want it to be responsive, sleek, clean and uncluttered - and not push out something just to have it done or add features, just because we can. Ideally we would want to create a project that everyone can appreciate and not just the Halo players that use it.

User:
This project is designed with competitive players in mind and therefore concentrated on “Arena” (with an obvious focus on Team Arena) game modes. We’re testing and do research to make every data point or feature meaningful and useful. Our content is heavily influenced by it’s future users.

Details:

  • The tech stack includes a Sails.js back-end, react.js front-end with react router (with redux) and Der Flatulator6’s own haloapi.js (haloapi - npm) client. (Want to use something else? Write anyway!) Database tech isn’t set yet. Ideally it would be great to have a front-end /JS dev who’s experienced or interested in material design and charts/data. - People that like building custom, responsive, scalable charts are of course very much needed here, but that’s not the only thing we need help with. - We have a couple of devs already and a designer. As this is an online collaboration we use Slack and Trello for Discussion and Task Management and Github for the Repo.If you have the skills and can and want to invest some of your spare time send me a quick message, say a few words including what you can or would like to do on the project. I’ll answer all your questions and can tell you some more details.

(This project is also potentially open for UI, Motion (for UI transition mock-ups) or Information designers - or someone with other useful skills. We try to keep the team small, but if you think you might be a good fit let us know).

i could join, im not an expert/senior in any of the things you mentioned, im a 2nd year comp sci student and ive dabbled with flask and ember.js tutorials, and ive used mercurial primarily.

The position is open as long as this thread is visible here. I’ll remove it once we have a full team.

FYI, you might find these CSR distribution stats interesting.

The spot in our team is still open for anyone who wants to shape this project now and in the future.

I’d love to help but I’ve yet to have any experience with that tech stack. I could do my best to learn as I go along but I’d probably not be the best option.
