Looking for friendly, mature, team players

Hi Everyone,

I usually just come to this room and read the posts that others put up to try and find other people to play with, but I decided that I would go ahead and post my own thread explaining where I’m coming from.

I like playing Halo 4, but I’m just a normal player, just a normal guy. No “try hard”, no “sweaty” player, not any of these other Halo 4 labels I hear. I can get frustrated when I’m getting totally destroyed and I try to win the games. Normal.

I’ve been on XBox Live for only a few months. The last time I played on XBox Live was when Halo 2 first came out. Party Chat didn’t exist, people were more friendly/talkative, and it was easy to make friends and quickly have guys (and girls) that you played with on a regular basis. Today on XBox Live, I find that it’s hard to meet people because of Party Chat, people just hate talking to other people because of the negativity, cursing, bad mouthing, etc., and it’s starting to get boring playing by myself. So, hence, this post.

I’m hoping to be able to team up regularly with like-minded folks for some regular Halo 4 action. (Not a clan, though. Sorry. Please don’t reply with your clan posts.) Here are the things that I’m looking to have in common with some others on XBox Live:

  • I don’t want to play with randoms anymore.
  • I want to play Halo 4 as a team.
  • I want to try to learn and get better at Halo 4.
  • I want to play with others that use a headset and mic (Sorry. No Kinect users. I can’t stand the echo.)
  • I want to communicate as a team, communicate often, make callouts, be able to chat light-heartedly too, etc.
  • I want to play regularly. I don’t want people on my friend’s list that I’ve played with 1 time and that’s it. (I’m on almost every night from around 8pm to 11pm EST.)
  • I want to play with teammates that have useful/helpful/readable/pronounceable/mature Service Tags (mine is “RYAN”…my name). Not ones like “XJBY”, or “BUTT”. (I’m not talking about trying to have matching clan tags, or anything.)
  • I want to play the Team Throwdown playlist with a full 4 and other playlists too with a full team.
  • I want to be respectful of teammates and opponents and use my breath to help my team, rather than bad mouthing the other team. (I’m trying to get better about not complaining too. I do do that sometimes.)
  • I want to win!
  • I want to have fun!

In terms of my play style, I’m not a slayer. I’m a support player. I don’t come in 1st place on my team often. I try to play smart, I try to play supportive, and I try to stay alive, knowing that doing so is to the advantage of my team in terms of scoring, spawning, map control, keeping my power weapon, etc. Does that always happen? No. That’s where the frustration comes in a lot of the time. Am I a Halo 4 freak, or a die hard? No. I just like playing the game, I like playing often, and I’d like to play with others that feel the same.

So anyway, there’s the summary of my situation. So, if anyone shares these same kind of “wants” with me when it comes to playing Halo 4 and is tired of playing with randoms all the time, please send me an XBox Live MESSAGE (text, or voice), or FRIEND REQUEST (please include a voice message), and let me know that you ran across this thread and you’re interested in playing together. (If you send a FRIEND REQUEST without a voice message, I won’t accept it because I won’t know who you are.)

Thanks.

-Ryan

You’re just not going to get what you’re looking for without joining an organized community of like minded folks. It’s just not going to happen.

Fortunately, you don’t have to join a “clan” run by kids on a power trip with pretend boot camps and arbitrary rules that serve no other purpose than to satisfy their need to boss people around.

There are groups / communities that serve as organized gatherings of like minded gamers and groups / communities do not have all the stringent requirements of “clans”.

One of these groups is Midland Base, and we’re run by adults - not kids. If your current strategy proves unsuccessful, check us out:

you can join my clan we actually train and have fun while doing it if you want to join look me up

Add me on XBL Powner4a69.

Our clan XGC Titans is apart of a larger gaming community called Xiled Gaming. All together we have about 60k members within that including our other divisions. XGC Titans has about 100 members on its roster now but the Halo squad which was started in January has 20 members as of right now.

Xiled gaming and the Titans does run off of a rank structure and we do have an honor code as well. Simple stuff like no cheating, be respectful to other gamers etc. We do alot of our communication on our website xiledgaming.com. We have our own forums where we post things such as clan/squad lists, meeting notes, general information that comes down the pipe about game night, tournaments, contests etc.

As for me I am the Captain of the Halo 4 squad and we are always looking for members that are interested in finding a good group to play with and just enjoy the game. I can get into more detail about how the clan/ squad operates, meeting nights, and if you do decide to join the read-in process as well. Send me a friend request if you are interested and one of these nights we can game and discuss the clan in more detail. Our Squad meeting nights are Wed. nights at 9pm. EST. Your more than welcome to pop in and see what were are all about.

I totally agreed with a lot of your points because I have similar opinions about pairing up with other players.

Send me a friend request on xbox. Gamertag - DGIZZY

Hooner - great games back on Monday night.

I was just scrolling throught the recruitment forums, clicked on your thread and was slightly confused for a second. The GT was so familiar, but it took me a minute to connect the dots.

We’d love to have you swing by the site officially sometime soon

Keep fightin’ the good fight man!

Thanks, Roweblast. Yeah. I’ve been having fun playing with the OcR guys. I will have to head over to the site and takes some time to read through there. Thanks again.
