Looking for feedback on my Halo tips series

Hey all. I just uploaded a new video to my Youtube channel, and I’d love to get some opinions on it. It’s a channel focused on helping new or struggling players learn better decision-making in the game. In my opinion, good decision making is most of what you need to succeed in Halo. Give my video a watch. It’s 13 minutes, and it’s full of good info from someone that’s been playing Halo for 10 years. If you like it, check out my other Halo videos on my channel. I’ve got some knowledge bombs on there now, with a lot more to come in the future.

Let me know what you think!

Those are actually excellent tips. Really delves into the smaller second-to-second things that most tip videos I see simply overlook.

It really is important for players to realize how much a little self control will do for their game.

I used to think that I wasn’t that bad with a 0.83 K/D. But after watching this video, I feel I could have improved with these tips… A LOT. even without these great tips, I probably could have gotten out of plenty of deaths by actually thinking about what I was going to do.
I feel I try to run up and try melee way too many enemies. That’s partially call of duty’s fault as I used to play that before I moved entirely to halo
I noticed, looking back at my recent games, I completely avoid even attempting to let my shields recover and just think “even though Im dead, at least one of them will probably die” (but it never ends that easily)
I could go on about my terrible halo skills some more, or I could just say that you have some great tips which I believe, when used, could easily improve my game.
you, sir, have earned yourself +1 subscriber!

Just trying to help here…
Those 3 things you mentioned, you need to do the exact opposite to be good at halo. You will find the best players are the most aware, best at DEFENSIVE (not offensive) angles and willing to do what it takes to help the team win eg; in slayer DONT DIE, you are giving the enemy team points, every time you do. 30 kills with 20 deaths is a bad game. 15 kills (or even less) 3 deaths now that’s good playing.

Just something to put in perspective for you.

Thanks a lot man! That makes me feel good. That’s the first time since I started making videos that I felt like I actually helped someone

Just wait for Part 2. I’ve got some good stuff in there too!

I subscribed to your channel because I liked what I saw. I would suggest that you put your episodes into playlists so that someone that discovers your videos later on can start from the beginning and just let them roll.

Getting a lot of views/likes/subscribers can take some time but it doesn’t mean your stuff isn’t any good. Be patient and put out videos on a regular basis and the word will go out.

Back in the day there were a lot of good players that posted good tips and tricks all the time. These days Halo could use more people like you that are willing to help others and not be so down on the game not being like it was ten years ago.

Good luck, and see you on the battlefield.

Hey Zach,

Awesome videos! Halo 4 definitely needs it! Lots of good tips in there. Watched them all, even helped my polish my skill set a bit

Cant wait for more of your videos, the only thing i would recommend is more game play, less watching you talk. Not intended to be mean or anything but you could cut your time down of the videos (some people dont like long videos) if you had gameplay WHILE your are talking. It doesnt have to be specific gameplay you want to discuss but maybe just where you are doing really well. That way you could combine the ‘Goes Hard’ with the tips video. Half the time double the information. Just something to think about.

Good voice for videos too, some people have REALLY strong accents, swear alot or get confused with what they are saying and it makes it less easy to listen too.
Sub’d

loved the first videos so keep posting. I especially like how you explain things and and why you are doing what you are doing. I like to watch players on twitch and that is great but the stuff you are doing is fantastic for mediocre players like me.

Thanks for the kind words and feedback, guys! I really enjoy doing stuff like this.

I remember when I was first really getting into Halo, back in 2004-05. I was so hungry to get better and learn more, and I was online all the time trying to find tips and stuff. I just want to make the kind of stuff that I wish was available when I was learning.

Thanks for the encouragement guys

Hello, Hard VVay, I apologize for being late in replying to this thread, but I have to say that I’m loving the videos, please do not stop! I’m looking forward to more of them.

I’m a bit of an ambitious Halo player who is looking to eventually gather ultra pro skills. I’ve been looking to improve my Halo skills ever since I first got xbox live back in October 2012(although I’ve been playing Halo offline for several years). I’ve had some pros give me some good tips here and there, and so I’ve improved my skill quite a bit to the point where the current videos are teaching things I mostly already know, but it never hurts to brush up on the basics! I’m definately looking forward to the more advanced pro tip videos that I hope will come later.

Also, in my small group of friends that I constantly train with, its nice to have someone put the basics together in such a simple and easy to understand way. Also the fact that you point out any mistakes you make helps your viewers to learn from their own mistakes, and thus improving their gameplay further.

Would you perhaps be interrested in personal Halo teaching? It would be pretty cool if you could give me some direct training because it would be nice to know what I could use some improvement on. If you so decide, my Gamertag is ‘SMARTAN 427’. Thanks man!
