so… i don’t know were to start really, i used to play halo wars 1 and it was awesome i used to be pretty decent against friends and other things, recently i got in contact with all my old buddies from school and we all downloaded halo wars 2, we started playing doing okay my w/l ratio is just below 45% which isn’t bad considering i started playing 3 days ago, i was just wondering if there was any tips i could get of some veterans, currently i’m using ship master rushing the honour guard and harassing there base invis whilst my mate rushes mantises and it works okay, but i’m wondering if there is any chance of some tips or characters other people prefer?
I’d watch players like Breaking the Clutch and Team Respawn. They seem to do fairly well, and from what I noticed, they have very specific ways for playing each leader. Such as doing Supply pads and spawning core units to go get supplies and mini bases. They use far more Supply pads than anything.

Yeah I have noticed that on videos, I watch a lot of zanny, I think he’s so funny, and I usually go gen 2 supply pads and hero building then upgrade the gem as soon as it gets in and send troop around the map getting resources
Honestly, I feel that the youtube videos are great but to much to process all at once, I would watch Tips and Tricks videos but to improve your overall game your just gonna have to Halo Wars, Halo Wars and then…Halo Wars
Like if you guys watch BtC they have good build order/upgrade timing while TR are good at the macro but bad at the other so watch both if you want good experience or if flame pieman has a yt channel or content outside of TR watch his stuff

For starting leaders I’d recommend decimus, forge, anders, and pav these leaders are strong and have a simple learning curve I honestly do not recommend ship master for new players he has the biggest learning curve in the game. I’d only recommend him once you can compete with decent players.
as far as shipmasters hero he’s best used to pick off straggling units. By me myself say the honor guard is the worst leader in the game he’s not good in mid to large army fighting and his y ability is easily countered you want to abuse ships mobility that’s why he’s a top teir leader but he has the largest learning curve because if your not good at the game your most certainly can’t be good with ship imo.
