I’ve recently been getting owned in Halo 4’s Multiplayer.
The reason behind this is either:
-the lack of skill
-the lack of good team
-I’m getting paired up with higher skilled player (CSR’s fault)
I first assumed that I just don’t practice or put enough commitment into improving, which might be true.
But then I asked myself “What do people do to improve?”. I then thought about it, and came up with ways.
-practice in customs
-keep playing matchmaking
-find a mentor to help me improve
But the problem is that these ideas won’t work.
-I have nobody to practice with in the first place
-if I keep getting paired up with higher skilled players and getting owned, how am I supposed to improve? It’s not like dying 500457 times in a game is supposed to improve me. I need to fight against players with equal skill
-Finding a mentor is hard. I mean, if I can’t even find someone to practice with, how am I supposed to find a mentor?
This is why I think that the lack of a good team is my problem. And when I say “good” team, I don’t just mean good as in skill, I also mean good as in good people or friends. Just because I have super skilled players on my team, that doesn’t mean that they’re a good team. Team members that are supporting, caring and good friends are what make up a team. Not only is skill important when forming a group, but good friendship and loyalty is too.
A team that is skilled, and also has great friendships is probably one the best teams you could ask for. I mean, would you like it if you had teammates with amazing skill, but don’t care about you or consider you as a friend? Or would you like it if you had teammates who are great friends that care about you, but aren’t really what you’d call great players?
So in the end, a team with friendship and skill is ultimately the best.
“What exactly are you asking of us?” you might be wondering. Well, basically I’m asking if anyone is willing to form a group that is connected, got eachothers back and is caring and supportive.
This could be seen as an opportunity to develop new and strong friendship, and also to work together as a team to help eachother improve and succeed.
