As you see if you look at the chief’s fingers his trigger finger is grey and doesn’t look like the rest.
If you go to the muiltplayer the Spartan IV’s fingers look the same now this is either just the way it looks, less armor so he can fit his finger threw the slot, or it could be like a perk or power system like in Crysis 2 were each finger had different perks or something but you could only pick one at a time.
Let’s wait and see.
Nowadays fingers can even have perks?!
I suppose you also support the toe perk theory as well.

Obviously, the gray finger is power-up you find on the map like an Overshield.
Instead of throwing grenades, you point at a target player and scream Norse curses until that person explodes. If you die while “The Finger of Odin” is equipped, a Valkyrie descends from the clouds to take you to Valhalla (the Norse paradise, not the map) and lets you respawn with a Scorpion.
If something like that was implemented, I think people would STILL whine more about perks than that.

Hey, we Swedes share that same old religion back from our days as Vikings, and some even Worship Odin and the others these days

My apologies. I also mix up “Norse” with “Scandinavian.”
Anyway, it’s likely just aesthetics, like people have said before. Occam’s Razor, right? The simplest explanation is often the correct one.
