Look at all this positivity, 343

Look at it, and have your next game usher forth the same positivity. Had Halo 5 been released with everything it’ll have tomorrow, many more people would be playing.

So please, take your time with your next Halo game. Make it as great as Halo 5 circa December 8, 2016. And the $$$$ will follow.

If I am right, Halo 3 was very strongly adopted from Halo 2’s engine.

343 can do the same with Halo 5 and Halo 6, and as long as they add newer/prettier/more advanced content on top of what Halo 5 already has, I doubt players will complain.

Business have there own weird ideas of what players want… that’s why games get rushed.

This constant stream of content tells me that 343 didn’t get to complete their game in the time they wanted. Art takes time.

And how beautiful this piece of art has become.

I feel the new Arena update is amazing and as you said Halo 5 could have had a longevity of around 200-300K players active right now if it launched with all of this.

Yes, and I think people these days should learn to be happy with the games they have, and not make developers feel like they need to churn out new games every other year. That’s how things were back in my day.

Here’s an example. Nintendo gave us an almost decade-long gap between Super Metroid and the next Metroid game, which was Metroid Prime, which was one of the best-selling and most acclaimed Metroid games of all time. Now I’m certainly not saying they spent that whole time developing it. My point is that appearing almost ten years after the previous game didn’t seem to negatively affect its reception and sales. I don’t know about you, but I could be happy with Halo 5 in its current state* for a long time, and I really would prefer them not to rush Halo 6.

*After the update drops, I mean

As much as I want to say that I wish that Halo 5 was actually releasing today instead of October 27, 2015, most of the updates are from community feedback. I can’t wait for the update to come out. Plus, there’s also more to come in 2017! I hope that Halo 6 isn’t rushed. If they have to delay the game a year or so I’ll be alright with it. Hopefully Halo 6 also has post-launch treatment like this.

P.S. This is the most positive I’ve seen Waypoint since Infection.

Is there still some more reveals to come?

Ske7ch hasn’t said what the two things that weren’t included on the rea sheet are.

I wouldn’t mind if it releases’ in 2020 as this would mean it had enough time to develop

I’m guessing that they’re for the next updates. They could possibly be unfinished. Plus, didn’t they say something that they’re adding something that looks like old times? He said it wasn’t a Flaming Recon Helmet so who knows. I’m intrigued by it though.

EDIT: Found it. Link to thread.

> Hate to burst anyone’s bubble here… BUT I wouldn’t get too worked up over elaborate systems to unlock helmets. I agree that’s super fun and awesome but it’s not something that’s implemented for these helmets. The important thing I wanted to stress in today’s reveal is that they WON’T REQUIRE MONEY (though for convenience it’s safe to assume a dedicated REQ pack will be sold). I did find out about one or two other little pieces of content though that aren’t on the REQ infographic that we will bestow upon the community in a similar fashion to the old days (no it’s not flaming Recon :)) Looking forward to sharing more on that later!

Have you seen the forum about 6-man Warzone? The salt there is palpable. Other than that, yes this update is easilly one of the best updates to Halo 5.

I really hope this was all a sort of development trial run for Halo 6. Can you imagine if it launched with all of this, and on Scorpio with native 4k? OMG, I would bust a nut.

That’s just temporary. They want to see what effects it brings.

Still people are still outraged, but who cares about Warzone, when we have so many great new Arena playlists. Team Skrimish

I think the AI Difficulty changes are one of the highlights of the Update. And plus, I’ve been wanting a playlist like Skirmish for awhile now.

yup, completely agree

343 have proven to me that they are listening and trying to please everyone. It is an impossible thing to do. Hats off to them all!

Me too. Team Skrimish and Super Fiesta are what is going to bring me back to Halo 5. These days I just play a lot of Seige with a squad.

That’s literally the exact same thing that I do. That game is tense as all hell. Unless, my squad is all Recruits of course. But, when I wouldn’t be on Siege, I’d Forge or play Skyrim.
