Look acceleration only for "pegged" state??

“when (R) is held to the edge”

Both the in-game description & 343’s article on the new settings specifically makes it out that the acceleration only applies to the pegged (100% to any direction) state.

But everyone on here & elsewhere is talking about “how amazing” 2 acceleration is for “smoothing out” their aim…
if it’s only the pegged acceleration then it shouldn’t be changing anything for your aim, only “large corrections” like turning around to kill a flanker.

If that’s the case then I’m not sure why this is even a setting in the first place, wouldn’t everyone just end up eventually using 5?
Other than for individuals with the joystick precision of a walrus wearing oven mitts, I don’t see any practical reason to want to inhibit only your ability to turn around quickly.

Either there’s something fishy with 343’s explanation of the setting or there’s a whole lot of placebo aim going on.
Anyone know what the deal is?

The problem with the acceleration is that the pegged state was activating too early for a lot of people. That’s where the Outer Dead Zone comes into play. And for people like myself that play on lower sensitivity it was really jarring to go from 10mph to 100mph with a 1% movement from aiming to pegged state. So it’s really a combo of both settings being set properly to the user, so that the turning doesn’t jump from one speed to the next so drastically.

So all in all, the people that complained about the aiming being too slow, I guess could double the speed in aiming with 10 sens, 15% outer, and 0% inner deadzone.
