What settings (how high/low) should I put the look acceleration and inner and outer dead zones at to make it feel like the way it is in the older games?
Not sure about older games but 343 did confirm in their latest update that if you drop the aim acceleration to 2 it will be just like it was in the beta
Acceleration to 2
4 percent 4 percent. And look acceleration is preference. I prefer 4 or 5
I dont think you can make control feel like older games unless they change aim assist completely. Aim Acceleration=2, Inner Deadzone 0% has made a big difference for me.
I’ve got 5 acceleration (basically no acceleration its all based on analog angle like halo 2 and 3) inner is 0% (make it as low as possible with out getting unwanted drift) my outer is set to 5% cause i cant visually see if the controller hits 100% toggle or 99%
I’m so happy I can adjust dead zones it feels amazing.
what’s the inner dead zone? can someone tell me what it does

The deadzones effectively limit the range of input values of the control stick.
Lets say 0 is when your stick is completely centered and 100 is when your stick is pushed all the way to the right. At 0 percent deadzone the game will registers all input from 1-100, at 15% for both it will register input from 15-85. Inner adjusts the lower value, outer the higher value.
Ideally you want 0% for both, but that can cause slow turn or look drift issues for some controllers with calibration issues.
I made a thread explaining how to properly adjust the deadzones if you are interested.
Acceleration to 1 so it takes ages to get out of hand. Inside dead zone to zero meaning you can input your movements without delay. Outer deadzone to zero so that it takes longer to get to max input, again countering the out of control acceleration. This leaves you with a pretty consistent and even aim level and you can simply adjust the look sensitivity to whatever suits for smooth movements and accurate twitch adjustment. At least that’s what I have found works. In any case I’m enjoying the game for the first time since launch with these settings, which is a nice change from the overall disappointment I have experienced so far.
Ok, thanks guys. So it’s better to have both at 0%?
I use a sensitivity of 4, look acceleration of 2. Inner deadzone at 0, and outer at 5. It works extremely well for me.
Even with the inner deadzone set to 0, there is still a deadzone. It’s much less than it was before, but it’s still there. The way I can tell is because on my Elite Controller, when I go to the app and change the Sensitivity Curve to Instant, it forces a 100% press at the slightest offset, so if I have that Preset selected, my aim is always drifting. But on the game I can set it to 0, and not get any drift, even though my right stick isn’t dead center. So I guess that’s a good thing, but I thought 0 meant 0.
actually i just deleted my post. This settings should be a secret to every player. Knowledge is power so no sharing sry.
I’ve got my sensitivity at 6 or 7, acceleration to 1, inner to 0, and outer to 5. It feels awesome and pretty smooth.

prety close to yours, why is your acc so low, do you want to turn around fast
For now, using an Elite controller with high-convex sticks;
Sensitivity: 5
Acceleration: 5
Inner DZ: 1%
Outer DZ: 5%
With enough steady gaming, I’ll be up to 6 or 7 Sensitivity.

It is to help me follow a target, Im not comfortable with my reticle being all snappy and moving all around the place.
Im seeing some pros using the 2 acceleration and others cranking it up to 5. What are the benefits of both?

that is why you have got 5 outer, when you need to follow them fast, push stick close to the 5 percent and you would be in control and it would be smooth. 1 is low man at leatst leave it at the original

Putting it at 5 makes it nearly, if not exactly; % of stick push = direct % of reticle movement speed. Meaning, I don’t ramp up to my intended speed, I just do it. I like it… I LOVE IT.
