Long winded feedback that doesn't really matter

Just some feedback from a long time player. Im not a pro player by any means but here is what is really weird imo and what I think needs to change in order for everyone to all feel like this is really: 1. Halo, and 2. A good shooter

(This is all on PC Infinite, I do not know if it is better or worse on console)

  1. Why let me walk through enemy spartans. I can understand walking through team members; but walking through enemies makes the whole punch them in the face part of the game play suck because the two players who are caught in this end up spinning in circles looking for each other. Not fun really. To add onto the melee system, the lunge seems inconsistent and extremely short in comparison to previous titles. Im not asking for a lunge of 16 feet or something crazy. But just give me the lunge we are all used to from previous titles.

  2. EXP system needs some work; it doesn’t feel rewarding at all to sit around and wait for a brute chopper to spawn for the enemy so I can destroy it and get a crumb of exp. However it would be a complete non issue if we were given exp after every match. Seen a couple other feedback posts saying a 25,25,25 system of 25 for completion, extra 25 for winning, then an additional up to 25 for performance. It just feels so darn slow. In other Halo’s I would be level 10 to 15 by now, heck in other shooters with a battle pass I would be 20ish, and I have used 15 double XP boosts! I am only level 5!

  3. Vehicle combat is strange. As a warthog enthusiast. The infinite warthog feels absolutely awesome! On flat ground. As soon as you add any rocky or uneven surfaces it is kind of a nightmare to drive. It bounces and flips for sometimes no reason; this is the same for the mongoose, gungoose, and sometimes this also happens to the ghost, but extra because the ghost gets stuck in the ground at times. This all seems like its just buggy atm and will be patched though, my main complaint about the vehicle gameplay is that it is too easy to destroy all vehicles. Its like they are made of cardboard instead of a future space metal. An individual spartan feel way more powerful than a fully loaded warthog at full HP. They just have so many variables now that help them completely and utterly destroy every vehicle too easily. EMP grenades are too common on the map, Hydra launcher spawns way too often, skewer is way too strong in its knock back but not in damage sense. Im glad there isnt a spartan laser! Something that I could see helping vehicles not feel so weak would be a defense boost rather than more damage output. And for ground vehicles like the hogs and gooses; they should have a “full speed” button instead of just cranking it up to full speed right away. its too fast honestly. I have to tap w in a quick beat in order to have them all not go too fast to control. And then theres the flying brute choppers… hehe brrrr

  4. Game modes. I know this is only Beta and I hope this changes soon or in the full release. But gosh darn let me choose what modes I wanna play! When a challenge is asking me to capture a flag I want to just play CTF. Not get stuck playing slayer, oddball, and strongholds.

  5. Radar. It needs some kind of a visual buff. I dont know why or how but its like I can’t see it. When i compare it to 1,2,3,4, and Reach it is practically invisible if im not looking at it. In all other Halos I can see it and focus on it in my peripheral to know if someone is about to assassinate me or if there are enemies near by. Im not saying increase the range; that I dont care about. It just needs to be more visible. I have tried many different changes with the colors and resolutions to see if that could help. Nope.

  6. Outlines are a-ok imo, I like that we can finally get to see everyones spartans in the colors they want them to be in, that is a pretty epic gamer moment. I just think the lines should be a tad thicker for extra visibility. However I thin that seeing my teamates spartans in a solid outline through stuff is kind of pointless and is just a distraction on my screen. I would love if we could toggle that off.

  7. We should stay in que after matches with all of the other players who chose to stay in it just like old times. Or atleast your teammates. And stay in que so you do not have to re-que. I understand why this was taken out for staying with everyone from the game, getting called names by the other team and what not is stupid; so why not just stay with your team if you choose to? If they have been not fun to play with there is nothing stopping you from leaving and just re-queing

This isn’t everything that I think about the game. This is just what I think maybe should change. But to reiterate. I am no pro, nor am I a game developer.
I think 343 did a wonderful job with the MCC and a great job on Infinite so far. I just hope they listen to what we are all saying and do something with it.
As infinite stands right now, in my opinion it does not feel like Halo yet, it feels unbalanced and rocky. But I trust 343 will polish this sucker and make it the best Halo game we have all ever played.

See you on the battlefield,

Ok, maybe a bit long winded
Your first item made me realize that no collision is the exact reason why so many of my intense/chaotic fisticuffs have moments of pure confusion where me and opponent are just wildly swinging, shooting, chucking nades out of desperation while we try to figure out where the eff the other one disappeared to.

Right? Its super annoying and makes me think we are playing 12D Chess

I wish people would stop calling this the beta just because 343 calls it a beta it’s not a beta. The beta was back in August when they had time to figure all this out and we brought it all up to them. What beta lets you unlock achievements and buy stuff with real money. This game was going to be released on December 8th as it is now. But because of legal reasons they have to call it a beta because they said that they was going to release it December 8th.

Didnt know that you had to declare free software was in beta for legal reasons. Doesnt sound right to me.
Anyways the developer can call it whatever they want cause it is their game. You know how Minecraft was in beta for years and years? You could buy that, spend money in that, get achievements in that. I doubt infinite will be in beta for that long, probably just for like. A month until the game fully releases.
The pre-flighting was a part of the beta yea, but this is still beta because the dev said so. If they said it was the full release then yea more people would have much more issues with the game since that gives the impression that no work to not that much work will go into it from here. Them saying it is a beta release means that they are willing to change stuff still. Like they are probably going to be changing the EXP/Battlepass system to make it better; you don’t see that happen ever really.

Anyways. Im glad 343 is listening to us. Bungie never would; they would just get overruled by BlizzardActivisions quest for more money over anything; which is fair. They are a company afterall. But 343 and Microsoft also like money, but they are some of the first AAA devs to really understand that listening to the players and making changes that the community wants will make them more money in the end.

What I wish is that people would understand why they may be calling it a beta right now; rather than just jumping on a bandwagon because we all hate x y z. Perhaps it is because they know it isnt 100% finished yet and are still cooking it up for true launch day. I’m just glad we can all let them know our views on the state of the game to make the fixes that they need to or want to make before true launch.

Literally the Halo community screamed for them to release Infinite earlier than Dec8th. We asked for this. No one ever told anyone that they had to purchase anything from the shop or even buy the battle pass. its F2P for a reason.

Beta does not equal bad. Just means there is room for improvement.

I may seem flustered at this, I kinda am. I got aspergers so i tend to go off and may come off as an -Yoink!-. If i do I appologize.
