After putting the vessel on a refueling track to the super carrier on my way back to the hangar two ultras are blocking my way. I can’t skip them, I fire plasma rounds but they evade and get back to cover, they throw grenades. Could I have some tips to know what to do?
If you can’t kill 'em then try a needle rifle shot to make them evade. Time each shot just right and they will be too busy rolling around the floor to shoot at you. Perhaps you can run past them while putting in needle shots? I haven’t played LNOS for ages so I wouldn’t know how effective this would be. I keep a LASO checkpoint for every campaign mission backed up in case a weekly campaign challenge shows up and then I just restore the checkpoint to complete it.
Theres one trick, but you may have missed it already. The first time you enter that room, pummel the various containers to completely block that doorway that one and several grunts and jackals emerge from when you come back. This actually prevents them from getting through the doorway, eliminating dealing with one of the ultras.
This may be very trial-and-error, but try assassinating them halo 3 style, by what I mean is just hitting the melee button, don’t hold it. They do get distracted and it can end up in your favor, but it’s all luck based. You should have done more research before taking on one of the most challenging LASO missions.
Even under legendary it gets pretty easy once you are proficient in “noob combo”
Noob combo = plasma pistol and any headshot weapon (magnum, DMR, needle rifle)
Remove shields quickly with plasma pistol and then headshot… Next target
My big problem with LNoS was the space battle on LASO, even after watching video guides, it seemed like there was always more than one banshee etc behind me eating me to shreds.
This level was just trial and error for me on Solo Legendary.
I have had most luck using the drop shield and the energy sword (got from the control room), when they come into the shield use the sword to kill them.
