Really wish there was a badge for when you have every game beat solo on legendary
I agree. Also for LASO.

Like, a forum badge?
The point of forum badges is mainly to display your contributions to the Halo community outside of just playing the games as usual. There are already in-game rewards for beating the games on Legendary (achievements), as well as usually armor unlocks. Typically, badges are meant for things above and beyond just routinely playing the games.
Obviously there are some exceptions, but usually in the terms of badges, less is more.

you literally have a badge for playing fireteam raven… and one for buying merch… a lone wolf badge would signify that the person with it knew what the hell they were talking about when it came to the games…

Agree, or there should be one badge or banner when you beat all the games on LASO.

Again, everything basically has its own place. If you want to know if someone beat games on Legendary by themselves, or were any good in multiplayer, or what they played - you can just visit their service record. Like, dope - you beat the Halo 5 campaign on Legendary, and play a lot of Warzone. Good work!
Which is where the badges change gears. You have your service record for game performance, and then your badges for community participation and involvement. The reason there’s a Fireteam Raven badge is because going out and playing an arcade game at an arcade is an inherently social experience to promote involvement in Halo community projects. Same thing with the Halo 5 multiplayer beta badge - you’re promoting the Halo community by testing out a game and reporting bugs and issues you might come across, as well as giving feedback.
Same thing essentially for the forum ranks - again, everything in its place. People have often suggested in the past to add badges for posting on the forums, but that’s the purpose of the forum ranks. There’s not really any reason to double up on things like that.
Some of the other introduction badges - like statistician and feet first are so that people that are new to the forums have something to show off, and it promotes some of the features that the Waypoint forums offer, such as looking up your own service record.
I agree with thetimewarptrio.
I have been here for 6 years or more and it doesn’t necessarily seem too relevant to have in-game things shown as a forum badge as it is more or less redundant with your achievement list on xbox anyways. I would much rather have community-based badges on here to show what kind of member you are in the fanbase.

The only badge I really wanted was Fireteam Raven. My god why wasn’t the machine working that day?

Dude, how’d you get the lol badge and fodder feeder??
I would like to know how to get the artist badge but my question was never answered. Anyway I kind of agree with others above that it should be forum related activities.

Oof, that is rough. The QR scanner just wasn’t turned on? If you ever go back, make sure to contact the owner/operator - it’s simply a switch they flip to turn it on, doesn’t cost them a dime.

You skipped past his MOTW badge? That’s the one I dig the most haha

Currently it’s classified on how to obtain it…your best bet is if you see someone who has it, DM them and find out how they got it and maybe they’ll help you out or point you in the right direction.
When it comes to the forum badges the only thing I dislike is that many are now unobtainable. I wish 343i would bring them back especially with Halo: The Master Chief Collection gaining so much attention and with Halo: Infinite around the corner.

So I’ve been here for 5+ yrs and there’s been a lot of badges that have come and gone.
MOTW - Community Member of the Week. I was featured in a blog a long time ago by our old community manager, bs angel, nominated by halo waypoint forum users. I used to be named RubricFlunky553 at the time because it was the random gt generated.
LOL - I was featured in another blog back in Reach/4 days where you got to caption pics and if they made bs angel laugh.
Fodder Feeder - I actually have no idea tbh. I did discuss stuff like lore, I have been here for half a decade, and I once contributed to the Collector Toy Thread here. Not sure what triggered it cuz it just says contributed to the domain lol
