It’s been years since I’ve completed halo 5 on legendary but still haven’t gotten the achievement to pop up, it says it’s done on my service record and I refuse to drag myself through all of it again.

If you refuse to do it again then the achievement will never pop. The issue is likely due to a momentary loss of connection during one of the missions. You’ll need to figure out which mission was affected by this and then complete it again. However, figuring out which mission needs to be completed will likely involve playing through it all again until you stumble across the right one.
Also, this is not an issue with H5 specifically. This has always been the case and this has always been the fix for it.
