LOL Why do people care about armor so much?

I like the armor in the game, but I don’t get obsessed with it.
People complaining it’s too hard to get Achilles armor. Too hard? Are you kidding me? Play the damn game.
I play Halo for Halo, not to unlock armor.
And if I do unlock it, cool beans. If I don’t, oh well.
Were people like this is Halo Reach with inclement weather?

I have never obsessed over cosmetic things in games. But some people do and thats cool. My nephew is like this. So I asked him why does he care? He explanation-“I don’t know, I just do” enough said. I just laugh.

Achilles is 343i’s version of Recon from Halo 3. It’s tough to get- and understandably so. It tries to promote the community to work together for something.

That being said, I’m not aiming for it, simply because my group is too small- Spartan Companies is a cool concept, but not one for me. My group is just family and friends, for the sake of us all having the same little badge of text beneath our character emblems.

And as for people getting obsessed with armor? Eh, I get it. I used to make machinima, not so much anymore- but for that, armor can be really important. It gets across a characters personality, and you can adjust armor/visors as he/she progresses in your story.

For those who don’t make machinima, well- having your Spartan, or any character from any game for that matter, look the way you want them to makes the game more enjoyable. Hell, now that I’ve got my Spartan looking the way I want him too- I have way more fun playing Warzone with friends and custom-games alike. And most of us are excited about the February Update bringing even more colors into the palette. SAGE? Yes. It’ll be good for players to customize and fine tune that much more. It’s a good play on their part.

But some people don’t care for the armor- and play simply for the Multiplayer aspects. And that’s totally and understandably fine! I know lots of people like that. But for those of us who do, in fact, enjoy evolving their Spartan through customization as the game grows- they have the option to do so.

Happy Gaming my friend!

I don’t care too much about the armor I wear. I use Mark VI, and as long as I have that, I’m fine.

What’s the point of teabagging my fallen foes if I don’t look good doing it?

I just want to wear armour that looks good. Achilles is not what I would consider to fall under that category. So, here I am with good old Noble armour and Buccaneer (which looks a lot like EVA from Halo 3).

that’s completely fine.
but when it gets to the point where people play Halo for the REQs and not for the game, then it starts getting lame.

I generally don’t care why people play. Back in Halo 3, some people played exclusively to get their rank up, and would create second accounts just to get the 50. That didn’t make sense to me because my character has always been my character.

Ultimately, why does it matter why anyone else plays? It just matters that we’re in the same game ground pounding each other to oblivion.

**I play to win and have fun in the process with my friends.**If they only had 1 armor choice in Halo 5, that’d be completely fine by me.

And some people don’t care if they win, they like to unlock things in the game and get a sense of achievement there. Why does it matter?

I would care about armor if you had to do specific tasks to get each piece, maybe you get the standard Warrior helmet and armor by killing 100 Grunts. With the randomness of the REQ system it doesn’t matter to me, I still change it around but it’s just for fun.

LOL Why do people care if others like armor so much?

Well we won’t be getting any new gamemodes till the end of this month, 4 months after release, so there really has been nothing to play for but REQs.

And other people play for different reasons. If you play to win and don’t care about armour, then all the power to you! It doesn’t make any other reason to play better or worse.

you can’t really see anyone’s armor with the garbage UI anyways, so who cares

because when people start to play for REQs instead of trying to benefit the team, it gets frustrating.
That’s why I usually play in a fireteam. Tired to players who play for RP instead of trying to do anything else.

You shouldnt care about the reasons others play the game and nobody here should care about your inability to realize people can play the game they paid for however they want. Keep playing in a fireteam and stop the whining.

Let’s not even touch the fact that you talk about people playing just for points with no actual information to back up your claim. If you play with randoms, you’re gonna get crappy players, it’s as simple as that. Nothing to do with REQ’s.

Cause its something to work towards. Without an incentive you’ll find people aren’t as eager to play. Not to mention people psychologically enjoy long tasks such as Achilles and often times people find more joy from the process of getting something than actually getting it. It isn’t so much the armor as much as it is the journey

Cause Achilles is lyf

I play Halo for Halo, but I also play for REQs. I love unlocking things.
