Oh I have that too. I get points for using Bing Search… I will literally just search some of the most random things just forget some points. I’m double dipping in points for sure.

I do this all of the time when I see something that I would like to get. When I first downloaded the app, I used a bunch of points that I have been saving for a while (I had accrued well over 100,000 total points when I launched it the first time) to get over $100 in Microsoft Gift Cards. While the vast majority of that went to game purchases, some of it went to smaller purchases (Platinum in Warframe and Credits in Infinite).

Use Bing as your search engine too. Earns reward points for every search (there’s a daily limit) and includes bonus points for quizzes and specific searches. I get £25-£40 in gift cards every 6 months just from using it at work.
Still only used those points to buy the battle pass though!
Least they could do is allow us to unlock colors I used to main white and my secondary color was always pink ill probably not get that combination at all until some holiday like valentine’s or something but probably still be in the store
And it would be nice if colors went with every armor like only armor I care about is my Mark V cause it’s my favorite
It’s your choice to buy or not. There have been enough complaints everywhere about pricing and value. If you don’t like it then everyone should just stop buying cosmetics in halo infinite. Clearly this isn’t happening and 343 will keep doing this until they see people aren’t buying into it. Complain with your wallet. Forum posts do nothing

Yeah, it’d be nice if they offered some of the better, unique looking coatings that you can see in the customization section. There are two different coatings for the Yoroi core that look really good (I forget their names, I think they both are Imperial something) that’d make my Samurai Spartan look complete. Not some generic basic blue or red.
That right there is the main problem. They straight up lied about quite a bit. Doesn’t sit well with me.
Shows 8 for me. also it’s blue for the samurai core. because for some dumb reason coatings don’t work across all cores.(So they can drain you of money)

I may have miscounted but I could of sworn the 2 main cores came with 10 of the OG default colors from Halo 5. But of they gave us 8 that’s even worse. 8 out of the 60 Default Colors.
Makes me want to watch Angry Joe when he goes crazy about Blue weapon skins lol

In honour of them I’ve decided to re-write ‘The Sale’ to be about microtransactions rather than a used car.
Captain James Cutter (representing the Halo community), in UNSC naval dress.

Cutter: Three.

Quick fade, then Cutter starts to turn to leave.
Cutter (voiceover) I’ll open with a strategic withdrawal.
Cutter: This game sucks, you’ve ruined Halo, I’m going to go play CoD.
Atriox: Wait. Whoa, wait, hold on.
Cutter (voiceover) You’ll counter with a disinformation campaign.
Atriox: We listen to our community, I’ll talk to the team and see what I can do.
Cuts to inside 343 offices. Nobody is inside but Atriox.
Atriox: Just a little longer…
Cuts to Atriox’s point of view as he watches Cutter and other community members on the forums before cutting back to Atriox.
Atriox: (hums to self) We’re listening to no one.
Cuts back to Atriox with Cutter.
Atriox: Great news we’ve reviewed shop prices based on player feedback, we can sell you blue for 6… .99
Cutter (voiceover) Then, I’ll bait you with psychological warfare.
Cutter: If only Bungie were still here, they know how to make Halo games.
Atriox: Bungie?! You know I hate Bungie! You catty little two-faced opposable thumbed…
Cutter pulls out his phone and begins live streaming Atriox while he rants about how ungrateful the community is.
Cutter (voiceover) You will attempt a verbal assault.
Atriox: I’ll make you buy cat ears for $10!
Cutter, still live streaming, turns to show himself in front of Atriox.
Atriox: -and that’s just for starters I’ve got over $1,000 of microtransactions ready just for Season 1 you little f-!
Atriox stops abruptly after realising his rant is being live streamed.
Cutter (voiceover) … With collateral damage.
Atriox: Oh… no… sorry… erm… came out wrong.
Cutter (voiceover) The evidence of which will not look good when it reaches the Reddit front page and the AngryJoe Show. And that is how I will get this blue for $3.
Fade cut back to the present, Atriox hangs his head in apparent defeat.
Atriox: Well played. How about an armor c-
Cutter, now holding Atriox’s mobile payment card reader proceeds to charge himself $3 for blue.
Cutter: Armor cores are for suckers.
Cutter, tosses Atriox the mobile payment card reader having completed the transaction and proceeds to head through the game menus.
Atriox: (speaking rapidly) Colour-blue-only-usable-on-specific-armor-cores-all-sales-final-no-takebacks-no-substitutions-no-trades.
Cutter, now at the customisation menu sees he doesn’t have the armor core that the blue he just purchased works with. Atriox roars with laughter.

Dear God … This is Chef Kiss content… BOY IF 343 sees this you know they will be upset.
Also I honestly suspect there is a few 343 shadow accounts in these forums. Like some of the anger responses some people have made defending the store, the prices and the content in one are too obvious e.
One dude got upset with me on a post I made regarding how the 2000 credit current weekly bundle was a rip off. While the 1000 credit bundle has more content and it’s half the price… But apparently 4 of the same Emblem with one Armor affect is amazing content. Lol

I hope if anyone from 343 were to read it they would appreciate it as the joke that it’s intended to be. Honestly regardless of what ‘side’ you’re on regarding the current monetization strategy it seemed like too obvious a joke not to make.
With that said, I’m not a big fan of their current monetization strategy and if the game needs to be free to play I might be more inclined to support it if:
- Colours weren’t locked to specific cores,
- Prices were lowered,
- Bundle items were also available individually,
- All store content was on sale at all times (rather than the current FOMO limited time windows)
- XP boosts were for in match time, not real world time (i.e boosts don’t count time unless you’re actually playing)
- There was some method of acquiring credits in game
The thing that kills me about it isn’t even necessarily that it’s just blue. It’s that it is CLEARLY the Cadet Blue that the other two armor cores get for free (along with like 10 other simple colors) while Yoroi ONLY gets Cadet Grey upon unlock with no additional choices out of the box.
Same thing with how we had a Cadet Red (brighter than the brick color) in the Tech Test for Mark VII, only for them to rename it and sell it back to us in the final build. Not only are they making us pay for a previously free feature, but they are clearly taking advantage of the flawed coating system to nickel and dime for even basic colors as much as physically possible. I’ve never seen anything like it.
