besides scanning for that occasional camper, everything else you see on your screen is either a covered by your radar or b takes too long for the scan to pass through you might as well just use your actual vision. enemies also do not show up if they have not been scanned yet. so if you are going to get surprised by guys shooting at you that you can’t even see because they are just a little further away from you. as for guys behind cover 50 meters away, forget about them too, even if you see them using the visor you would still not be able to hit them.
Disagree, it can be hard to gauge how far/close someone is using the basic radar, as well as it being challenging to tell which level they are on.
I am glad you feel this way because I personally feel that this is the most impressive AA. I will be using it for sure, it speeds up the game in general.
It’s funny, It seems that was the most used armor ability used at E3 and thats including the MLG guys. I think its very useful.
I have a 2.0 + k/d and I can tell you that the halo reach radar is more than enough for you to know exactly where an moving enemy is with in it’s range. there are just not many maps with 3+ levels. and from my halo 3 experiences, even with the old non-discriminatory radar, you can very easily predict were your enemies are coming from. in the end your strafing skills would be the determiner of engagements, not some gimmick like the wall vision. once you open fire, both of you would be in each other’s line of sight.

i think that is because the visual is epic, and slightly trippy. I mean, the vision would be very useful in campaign since the scripted AI would not leave their intended patrol area and therefore you can scan the entire battle field from a safe distance and kind of take a step by step approach by picking off of the grunts first one by one and stuff, but online, the game play is dynamic, and the pv will not be able to guarantee that you will not be surprised any more than the radar can.

Once I’ve gotten to know the maps, I can almost see where the enemy is when I see their dot on my radar.
> as well as it being challenging to tell which level they are on.
The radar in H4 is going to be more enhance than it was in Reach. Instead of brighter/dimmer dots for above/below, up arrow for up, down arrow for down and dots for same level.
Far as I can tell, PV is good for spotting campers. It’s not 360, has a delay and alerts your enemies.
I’m sure that it will prove to be a somewhat valuable loadout in certain circumstances. I will probably use it, but it would have to depend on the kind of gametype I’m playing.
If you watched the MLG gameplay videos you would see it being used very effectively. It basically alerts you to all enemy positions anytime you desire (as long as your power meter allows use). The radar, on the other hand, only tells you general enemy positions in close proximity, which also means that you appear on their radar as well. Promethean vision allows you to know EXACTLY where they are and what they’re doing (jumping, walking, crouching, etc.) and you can know these things without the consequence of them also being aware of your position.
I really don’t understand how you fail to see the usefulness of it.
It’s called Promethean Vision, and I’ll probably use it to try it out and see if it helps me at all. If it doesn’t, I’ll probably use Hologram (because I love Hologram in Reach too) or something else.
Of the four abilities we have seen, PV is definitly the strongest.
telling us your k/d ratio is pointless.
