Lol, balance concept failed.

343 actually had a decent balance going on. The only conspicuous balance problems were the DMR and boltshot.

Bolt shot is nerfed… May or may not be balanced, only time will tell

All that’s left is the DMR, which is only barely out of line. Operates just fine but operates to well at close quarters. 343’s solution? Consider boosting all other options with the DMR as a baseline! Lol

So instead of making minor changes to the DMR, like say a Rate of Fire reduction that results in a kill time 0.1 seconds slower… They want to play around with all the other weapons? (Nerf probably not needed, just balancing tweaks)

Sorry 343, but you went from balancing to overhauling. 343, you needed just tiny tweaks hear or there… But instead tweaks to make the DMR fit with the sandbox you remodeling the sandbox to fit the DMR.

Predicting faster kill times, less skill gap (most might actually like both of these)

Halo 2 had way faster killtimes than this game does. And it played fine.

And really this is the best move they could make. They make BR users happy, they made the carbine useful, and they don’t piss off DMR fans.

Not my point. But I agree that IF it works, it will have a great amount of benefit to the game. However, what distresses me is that instead of tweaking things rationally, incrementally in a controlled conscious manner one tweak at a time… They are essentially performing a high risk gamble and just throwing buffs to weapons everywhere.

This can be one of the best things to happen… Or one of the worst. It feels like a set up for a range of unintended consequences. (Where as tweaking things one at a time is more manageable, sane and has localized consequences)

I agree, they need to tread lightly. I hope they further balance armor abilities also.

Yo Tim, you do realize that theses ideas are no where near final right? The best thing to probably do is to go to the weapons feedback thread. In my opinion, i would not have a problem with kill times if movement speed was faster, but, hopefully they will reduce aim assist and bullet magnetism to compensate.

Again… I think I like all the changes being proposed. I do however question the attitude of testing them all out at the same time.

I guess they maybe trying to do as much as they can while also being as precise on what they want to do. all i know is that this weapon update will decide whether or not i sell it. We will either get fast kill times that anyone can achieve or fast kill time that are absolute when one actually aims. A lot of people will be happy either way, especially with a 4sk BR.

The balance proposals that were presented in the bulletin is what this game needs. It doesn’t need slow kill times.
