This is the 6TH HALO GAME! - 7 if you count ODST. (ODST SUCKED LOL)
But seriously.
Do we seriously want Halo to be like Call of Duty? The same garbage with a new paint job and few extra goodies?
NO!
Halo 5 is very different from some previous Halo games, but it HAS to change some time.It needs to evolve.
The halo games come out every 3 years or more, and there’s always a significant difference. It feels different, but it still feels like Halo to a certain degree.
Look at most series of games that have release several editions in over a decade in time. Compare the first one to the newest one…
It’s very hard to take you seriously when you end everything with an ellipses and use LOL as the first word of your title. Also, saying ODST sucks automatically invalidates your opinion on the matter.
Saying Halo “has to evolve” is the same nonsensical argument as a COD fan saying “if you don’t like it you just must suck at it.” No one has ever said, ever, that Halo 4 or 5 should be reskin of 3 or Reach. They just wanted the changes to make sense to halo’s theme and gameplay, to not be changes for the sake of making changes/“modernizing,” and to add extra features rather than removing features that have existed since the original trilogy even.

The Rock Band series:
4 numbered titles
3 spin-off entries
A total of 7 games where a few features came and went, but not one of them affected the core gameplay concepts that the series was founded upon. Harmonix experimented with some wacky additions in RB3 with the keyboards and the pro modes, but then they learned that they weren’t overwhelmingly popular and didn’t enhance the core experience, so they stripped it out for their next game.

No one else has any issues with me using the word lol or the ellipses. Don’t be a boring Bernard lol.
And it’s not a nonsensical argument.
The difference between Halo and COD is that Halo usually gives us a brand new experience in each game. The core Halo experience is still there, of course, but there’s new elements to the game that require you to adapt, unlike COD which feels like the same crap over and over.
Halo 3 brought in new gadgets that changed the way the game was played to a certain degree, and forge world really changed custom games for the better. These are a couple of examples of a game evolving.
The halo games after this introduced armour abilities which again changed the game and lead to you needing to adapt, while still keeping a core Halo experience there.
Halo 5 has furthered this trend, and now you can use your environment in new ways, there are fresher game types and the game has been taken it’s own way.
The franchise has moved a long way and evolved, and the evolution is completely necessary for the success and reputation of the series. Halo releases a game every 3 years or so and is expected to provide a brand new experience, unlike a game such as COD or Fifa.

That’s where I disagree with you. I DON’T expect a new experience when i buy a sequel. I expect more of the same. I like the original of whatever franchise we’re talking about, and so I want to experience more of that. If they’re going to change up the formula and take away from what I liked about the original, then that game/movie/book/whatever would be better suited as it’s own original franchise.

I’d agree with you if they have completely changed the game to the point that it’s something entirely different.
But this isn’t the case. There’s significant changes, sure, but it’s still definitely Halo. The weapons that you use the most still feel very similar, and the game plays quite in a similar fashion except there’s more elements added to it now.
Just a minute the Spartans are supersoldiers the books and halo Legends proved that Spartans a fast At running and able to have abilities and it’s a game I watched a video when they found files on the combat evolved was running animation and speed variables

It’s more about our personal opinions of what “feels like Halo”. For me, it’s the pacing. Classic Halo wasn’t slow, it wasn’t fast, it was a happy medium. Now there’s so much emphasis on speed and coming up with zany ways to zip around the map. To me, that does not feel like Halo. You specified that the classic weapons are all there and that they feel the same. However, smart scope changes the feel of them too drastically. Now, we can be shot with an assault rifle from a distance never possible before. If the ADS were strictly cosmetic, I could probably learn to overlook it, but it’s not cosmetic.
Halo didn’t have to change, as it was doing best when it was classic-styled.
Halo needs to return to its roots, which Halo 5 is in no way doing.
This game isn’t Halo. Sorry to tell you. It really isn’t.

I’m curious. Did you just compare halo to Rock Band? Sometimes I really wonder.
I actually like ODST but I do agree with everything else you said though. If the newer games were to be like the original trilogy it would get stale, repetitive, and be ridiculed just like COD.

What? No. He asked for an example of a franchise with multiple entries spanning a decade that stayed true to it’s roots. I provided.
